My husband and I have been coming to Telluride during the holiday season over the past 5 years! Staying at the Viking Lodge has been one of our best experiences as it’s a super short walk to the Gondola, restaurants, and ski-in/ski-out from Chair 7 and Telluride Trail. The property had amazing views and it was perfect for the two of us! It was also really clean, cozy, and well-stocked with supplies.

On the river
Nice condo with a deck overlooking the river.

Hard to find a better location in Telluride. Two blocks to the gondola, one block to another chairlift, and steps away from the free Telluride shuttle stop. Condo was a perfect size for my wife and I, and we thought it was perfectly equipped with the essentials. Great balcony with a view of the slopes and surrounding mountains. We loved our stay!

Hot tub was closed (out of commission) - major bummer.
Some minor issues with roll-out bed having torn webbing making it uncomfortable to sleep in.
Overall, not bad.

We enjoyed our stay here as it was convenient to both downtown and ski lifts. However, the sleeper sofa is very uncomfortable to sleep in, so would not recommend if more than 1 bed is needed.

Clean property, renovated bathroom, very close to chair 7 so easy to get up to the mountain. We enjoyed our stay. King size bed is comfortable.

wonderful stay!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The fall colors were at their peak in Telluride, and the balcony in the back had a perfect view of the mountains where spent a lot of time sipping on wine :) The house itself is perfect for a couple, the bed is comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked for a quick meal. The location is perfect for Telluride, walking distance to restaurants, bars, the gondola and many hikes. We would love to come back!

all around great stay
This was exactly as we expected. Small (therefore affordable), but walkable to everything, a kitchen that was just enough to not have to eat out every night, and lovely balcony over the river. We got to chat with the property manager as we were heading out and she was lovely. All around great experience. Loved not keeping track of a key!

Telluride Jazz Festival
The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do during Jazzfest. We love the balcony overlooking the trail and river with the mountain view next to perfect. I’d emphasize that balcony even more in all of your advertising. It was greatness.

We had a great stay in Telluride in Viking Lodge. The property is in a fantastic location--just steps from the main street and a few blocks from the gondola station. There is a beautiful trail just behind the property that is great for a walk or to just watch from the balcony.
We were travelling with 4 people, including an active 5 year old and 3 year old. The space for a group our size was a little tight, but entirely fine. The kitchen was basic, but had everything we needed.
What were really great for our family was the pool and hot tub and the laundry. It is a combo washer/dryer, but the instruction manual was kindly left out for us to refer to.
Overall, it was a 5 star stay and we would definitely recommend.

Pros:
Location- first of all Telluride is a destination in its own. Timeless city, story like: reminds me of movie sets. Also the location of the unit is perfect, balcony overlooking the river.
Cons:
Unit does not have a dryer. It rained while we were there and a dryer would have been very helpful. The washer is in place but no dryer???
Unit does not have a dishwasher. I like using a dishwasher due to the high heat. I feel like the dishes are cleaner. But here I had to wash everything before I used them because I didn’t know how clean everything a tip was.
There is construction right outside the unit door. We chose this unit because it was advertised as a quiet corner unit. The only bed in the unit is right as you open the door. And the construction workers were right there. We could hear their conversations and all the noise of course because the only thing separating us was a wooden door. This was a 20th anniversary trip…needles to say anniversary band construction don’t go well together.
Parking is an issue. The units don’t have assigned parking. We took the car out to go to the lake and when we got back we didn’t find parking. The only option per management is to park in the street. Telluride has many rules to street parking and and the car might get towed away. I was anxious the 2 nights we had to park somewhere else.
As I said this was just my experience.
I probably idealized this vacation to much. We were unable to travel last year because I am a nurse and I worked in the COVID unit for 8 months. This was our first time out of town in 2 years. Due to a long over due vacation and an anniversary celebration and I had very high expectations.

The condo on the third floor had a great view. We were able to watch people passing by on the trail, see bridal veil falls (from a distance) and were able to watch the hot air balloon festival from our balcony. Unit is small but very nicely decorated and outfitted. Only complaint is the windows don’t open so you have to keep your doors open for any breeze.

The condo looked very nice however we showed up and it was a construction zone with the condo above is getting the flooring torn out and redone. This was the second time we were moved for construction. The property manager didn’t even know the unit above was being renovated. It was also suppose to be top floor with nothing above is again the manager didn’t know the layout of the building. Once we made the manager aware he gave us two options: downgrade for the same price or upgrade for more money. He would no budge dispite the unit being uninhabitable due to construction noise, from 8am to 5pm each day. We were left without housing on a holiday week. This is a master class in horrible customer service.

Clean, well-maintained condo in a convenient location. Really good Thai food restaurant across the street, and basic kitchen essentials to cook meals as well. Enjoyed watching the skiers on the mountain from the couch and balcony. The only issue we had concerned a parking spot on site where ice fell from the roof on a warm day and damaged our rental car, so I recommend choosing your parking spot carefully in winter. If we had to do it over again, we probably would have just parked the car in the free lot nearby and walked. Overall though, we still really enjoyed our stay.

This place is in the town of Telluride and perfect for skiing, it’s a short walk to the free gondola or lift 7. In my opinion staying in the town of Telluride is better than the Mountain Village.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Great location, easy walk to downtown and only 2-3 blocks from #7 chair lift. Easy check in/out. No issues w/ parking. Condo is a bit outdated and could use some minor repairs (blinds on windows looking out at mountain/slopes didn’t work).

Would recommend
It was clean and safe place to stay. The views from the rear balcony were stupendous. The kitchen was adequate. I would recommend bringing at least one cast iron pan or similar cookware. We struggled with the small non-stick but you can also easily get takeout as well. Also there are no bikes allowed in the unit and unless you want to store it on a rack outside you’ll be stuck locking it in your vehicle.

Highly recommend
This was our first time to visit Telluride and we couldn't be happier with the condo. Viking Lodge is in a great location (on the river trail, very close to the gondola and downtown area), the unit is in the perfect spot (top floor with balcony looking over the river and trail), and the unit was very clean and comfortable. While the parking is limited and we had to park off premises several times, the Carhenge lot across the river is a very short walk. This unit is perfect for a couple.

Great Location!
Great Location. Amazing views and easy walk to everything in town. Unit #311 was clean and in good shape. Very comfortable for two (four might be a bit tight). Slightly odd layout with entry right into the bedroom but it was no problem once we got used to it. Kitchen was fairly well appointed, but could use a couple more plates and silverware. Would go back.

Good Rental for the Money
The rental (#311) overlooks the river and has one of the best views out of all of the Viking Lodge Units based on how the balcony is situated.
It was perfect for what we needed; reasonably priced compared to others in the area, no frills, comfortable bed and great views.
Telluride is small and therefore everything is walkable so every rental is close to everything. This unit is immediately adjacent to at least two good restaurants, a beer / wine shop, and the grocery store which was helpful when lugging cases of water for those of us who live at sea level.
