Situated in Salt Spring Island, this attractive house for $349 per night is a great option for your next break. Rates are listed in Canadian dollars. My rates are $475. 00 per night for 4 people with an extra guest charge of $75.00 per person per night with a maximum ocupancy of 6 people. You will receive a100% refund if you cancel 30 days before your stay. If you have to cancel please consider changing your dates to a later time. "Sea Spectrum" Bright, warm, inviting, a home who's charms include a courtyard with established gardens and fantastic ocean views. Entering you have an expansive view of the ocean, gulf islands, and Mt. Baker. The open concept living area flows onto a large ocean view deck furnished with dinning table and lounge chairs making a relaxing outside retreat. In the afternoons enjoy the cozy courtyard dinning area with barbeque. Sunshine all day! For early risers you will be rewarded and enchanted by the fantastic sunrise over the ocean and gulf islands, ferries coming and going through active pass, perhaps an eagle soaring overhead searching for breakfast all with glacier topped mountains in the distance. In the evening at the right moment see the moon as it seems to emerge from the water, casting a beautiful light on the ocean and illuminating the view. The living area is about 2,000 sq'. All rooms are tastefully furnished and have hardwood floors. The large but cozy living, dining and kitchen area is filled with windows providing abundant sunlight. The dining table seats 6 comfortably, all looking out on an interesting and ever changing view. The kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your culinary needs with some basic pantry items available. The master bedroom has a beautiful ocean view, furnished with a queen bed, 3 piece ensuite and ample closet space, a sliding glass door which opens onto the deck. Across the hall the 2nd bedroom also with queen bed, is attached to a large sunny, private bathroom with a large glass enclosed shower, no need to close the blinds! French doors open onto a private sunbathing deck to soak up the sun! The 3rd bdrm with queen bed is also accessible to the main bathroom. The kitchen has engineered quartz countertops, an island, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, glass top stove and oven, beautiful granite farmhouse sink. The laundry area has a front load washer and dryer, large laundry folding table ajoined to a office area. Bluewave internet 300 servicing the house. Through french doors down a few steps you enter into a separate family room with flatscreen TV playing Netflix, a cosy gas fireplace and 3rd bathroom with shower. A warm and inviting sunroom with plants and comfy chairs where you can sip your coffee and enjoy the view. There is a small bar area with fridge. This family room opens onto a sunny afternoon patio with barbeque, table and chairs for 6, all in a cozy enclosed courtyard atmosphere. A truly inviting home away from home. Relax and enjoy the beauty that is Salt Spring Island, the ocean, unbelievable sunrises, forests, the people and the wildlife. Young children need close supervision as there are 2 small ponds with goldfish surrounded by flowerbeds. The house is situated half way up Mt. Belcher with the main town of Ganges within 2 Km. It is not rented for events or parties. Virginia stays in a trailer on one corner of the property. I am very respectful of guests privacy and most of the guests living is done on the other side of the house. There are artisan studios and a hot yoga studio within walking distance. This is a NON SMOKING and SHOES OFF PLEASE home.

My review is meant to share my displeasure with the lack of communication prior to my arrival. The owner lives in an RV in the front yard of the property. The welcome was awkward and started with an obligatory tour for all members of my family to run through the deficiencies of the home and how to manage them. When I originally made the booking I filtered to have a hot tub and chose this property with the expectation that the property had one. I’m not sure when it was removed (some time after 2017?) but it is no longer there. Even if the hot tub had still been there we were informed during the “tour” that due to water conservation efforts even the bathtub was not allowed to be used. Communication at the time of booking could definitely have been improved upon but definitely when the amenities that were listed for the property were not communicated prior to the posted cancellation date or at the very least, the days prior to my arrival I felt deceived. Communication is critical and I found myself disappointed with other elements of the booking process and the property’s write up. Otherwise the view was beautiful and the house is well equipped. The property is located up a steep hill making it quite inconvenient to walk to town. Would not rebook.

Virginia’s house is immaculately clean and in a beautiful location above Ganges. The kitchen has everything you will need for cooking and room for everyone to help! The large deck is the focal point with comfy furniture and again - the view. Highly recommend this house and hope to come back next summer.

Overall, great stay! The house was fantastic and the view was spectacular. Virginia was very accommodating and even let us check in early. There were quite a lot of rules and explanations about things when checking in, but small price to pay for a lovely stay.

Property booked a year ahead so that we had something to look forward to as Covid continued to limit our lives. Family gathered from Montreal, Ottawa and Lower Mainland. Loved the property - magnificent home, beautifully appointed, lots of room for the four of us. Many happy memories made - sounds of ravens, wild deer in the yard, Saturday market, locally made jewelry, visits to artists studios, picnic on the beach, views of Gulf Islands, Mt Baker and stars, wine and appies on the balcony, BBQ dinners, local ciders. Wonderful time had by all.

The girls’ getaway to Sea Spectrum was just what we hoped for. We had a great time. The location was very close to Ganges which was very convenient. And the view of the gulf islands to the east was spectacular.

The kitchen was very well equipped and we had all the utensils we needed to cook all of our meals there during our trip. Beautiful home with stunning views doesn't disappoint
Let me begin by saying that this gorgeous home was far more beautiful in person than the photos could convey. Spacious, well appointed, up-to-date kitchen, meticulously clean, with lovely art work and absolutely full of light. The deck overlooking the bay was second to none and the view was nothing short of breathtaking! On our first afternoon an eagle flew right over our heads; it was thrilling. It rained one of the days we were there but the payoff was a beautiful rainbow, with the largest arc any of us had seen. Also, with 2,000 square feet there is room for all and plenty to do even on rainy days! The beds were all very comfortable, a must for us. We were a family of 4 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 10 and could not have been happier. Three different places to eat outside or in, everything you could ever want for a fun and relaxing holiday. Virginia was a warm and thoughtful host, who was responsive and yet completely unintrusive. We will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends wanting a holiday on this very special island with so much to do and see.
