Ellie's Buena Vista (Ellie's Great View) is a serene and beautiful Santa Fe style home in the historic neighborhood of the South Capitol. An easy and delightful 15-minute walk from the Santa Fe Plaza via the Old Santa Fe Trail, guests will truly enjoy this spacious abode and the advantages its ideal location has to offer. Right outside the front door guests have a fantastic view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains as well as ample opportunities for amazing sunrise photo ops. This spacious home offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a large living area with a custom-built kiva fireplace. Enclosed front and back patios for privacy and a small enclosed yard accessed from the upper yard. Parking space availability. This wonderful lodging is easy to get to and is a short drive to Paseo de Peralta, one of the main roads in Santa Fe. Guests may choose to take an early or late evening walk through the historic and lovely neighborhood. Ellie's Buena Vista can take reservations now for availability beginning May 15, 2017.

This is a beautiful classic Santa Fe property located on a quiet street near the capital. We loved the New Mexican interior including the corner fireplace, furniture, and well appointed kitchen. There are 3 delightful outside areas for enjoying the sun and chatting. We appreciated the garage, easy entry with codes, and clear, helpful instructions on handling trash and what's needed upon leaving (not much!) We will TRY to get back in our next trip back!

We were four adults - 2 women, one couple - and Ellie’s place was perfect! Reina (the host) was especially welcoming and responsive to questions, and supplied us with many necessities, including coffee, half & half, paper towels, shampoo and conditioner, hand and dish soap - and best of all, a bottle of wine waiting for us to enjoy! The location was ideal for access to the historic downtown area, restaurants and shopping - 15 minute walk.

Our group of 5 friends often take short trips, and as New Mexicans, several of them have been to Santa Fe. My past choices were very good, but we all agree that I outdid myself with Ellie's place. The house is a perfect SF home, decorated beautifully, and stocked with everything we could want. If we wanted to cook, which we did not, every tool we would have needed was there. The location is excellent, walkable to some places, and a short distance drive to everything else. I was looking for nice outdoor spaces in this wonderful fall weather, and Ellie's has three! Our Host, Reina, was full of information, and reached out to me to make sure everything was in order, but all was well from the beginning. She definitely deserved her classification as a Super Host. We will be back! And I mean that as my family loves SF as well as my friends. Thanks so much Reina!

We had a wonderful weeklong stay at Ellie's place. We were in Santa Fe for our daughter's wedding. The location was perfect: easy to drive or walk to downtown or Museum Hill. It is in a great neighborhood.
There is an outside patio off of the front entrance that was great this time of year for morning coffee or just relaxing in the afternoon with a book. And there are two other private outside areas as well! Inside, as described by others, it is roomier than you might think from the photos, with lots of places to sit and relax. Although we ate out most of the time, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the morning coffee package that Reina provided was greatly appreciated! We would stay here again.

We travel SantaFe annually for the opera. This lovely VRBO is nestled in a great neighborhood near the plaza. It is elevated enough that it has beautiful Mountain View’s from the patio and gardens. It accommodates a family quite comfortably. Hope to stay there again.

The house is beautiful, well appointed, comfortable and quiet. We cooked a few nights and all the tools we needed were already in the spacious kitchen, including some Reidel stemware from one of the wine festivals. We really enjoyed relaxing in the gardens and on the patios with some of the local wines too. The location can't be beat as many great restaurants and attractions are only a short distance away. The Farmer's Market, Wine Festival and Opera were all interesting and fun. Santa Fe is a Foodie Paradise. From the house you can walk to Kakawa Chocolate House and you simply must at least once; they have fancy chocolates, drinking chocolate and the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten. The local market is only a few blocks away and has fresh bread, produce, cheeses and prime steak. :) A smaller vehicle would probably be best in the city and neighborhoods but I was able to unload and park a Ford Explorer at Ellie's and maneuver all around the city without any problems. Reina is an excellent host and answered any questions we had promptly. She also reached out afterwards to let us know they had found an item of clothing and then mailed it back to us which was super thoughtful. Looking forward to our next visit at Ellie's Buena Vista in Santa Fe!

We had a fabulous time at Ellie’s cottage. It was me, my husband, our 2 daughters and their significant others. It was plenty big for all of us. The wine waiting for us was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.
We loved relaxing in all of the optional outdoor seating areas! Also loved the location and being able to easily walk to the downtown

What an amazing time we had in Santa Fe. Our house was beautiful and accommodated us perfectly. We could easily walk to the main square and enjoy the restaurants and museums. We hope to come back sometime soon.

The house was as described. Easy walk to town, nice area. I would stay again. Master bedroom did not get cool from the swamp cooler but the weather was not too hot so it was fine. In the summer time this could be an issue. Otherwise everything was great.

We LOVED our stay at Ellie’s. The location was excellent. Quiet neighborhood with off street parking and garage. Walking distance to the Plaza with shopping and restaurants. The house was wonderful Santa Fe adobe. We wished we could have stayed a few more days just to enjoy this beautiful property with its beautiful yard, well equipped kitchen, and my favorite, the Saltillo floors. Cannot wait until our next Santa Fe visit!

Reina provided us with a very enjoyable stay in Santa Fe. The house is conveniently close to the Plaza and Museum Hill and the State Capitol building. The interior is delightfully decorated and invites the guest to explore each intriguing object. The master bed is very comfortable. A bottle of wine, bag of coffee, and creamer welcomed us making for an easy start for our vacation. The house was very quiet and we felt safe in the neighborhood. I can't remember hearing road noise or neighbors even once. Reina graciously worked with us to reschedule our stay when our initial time did not work out. The listing for the property is accurate and we would certainly stay here again when visiting charming Santa Fe!

Reina’s property was very nice and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect. We appreciated the information provided about the places to go and see in the area, and Reina was available if we needed anything. If we go back to Santa Fe, as there is still so much we didn’t get a chance to see or do, we will hope her home is available.

A lovely home with helpful owners, this was the perfect place for our family of four (including two teens). The home is spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated with Southwest flair. It’s also well-located and within walking distance to the Plaza and Statehouse. When we return to Santa Fe, this is where we’ll stay.

Ellie's house was a wonderful 3 bedroom 2 bath home with all the amenities one could want. The main living room/dining room/kitchen was comfortable and offered a wood burning fireplace. The floorplan was perfect for 3 ladies who travel together but have different sleep/awake times because it was so quiet. The kitchen is very well appointed and the welcome bottle of wine and coffee was a very nice touch. The house is on a sloped lot so there are stairs from the street but a car can be parked at the side of the house for access at the house level for those who cannot do stairs. In warmer weather there are lovely areas to sit outside and enjoy the mountain views. The house is filled with New Mexico art & ceramics and has a coziness that made our stay truly wonderful. We would definitely book this fabulous house again!

Pueblo style home was both beautifully decorated AND comfortable with all the amenities and large kitchen, bedrooms, and living spaces -- a rare combination! We enjoyed both walking to town and recovering from our sightseeing days at the home with a mountain view and filled with beautiful local art objects. Wonderful, responsive host.

Ellie's Buena Vista is a lovely property with ample space to spread out and three outside areas to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It is within walking or bicycling distance of the square and other major conveniences. It was a wonderful home away from home and we hated to leave.

We were in a charming neighborhood within walking distance to the Plaza and the Railyard as well as many excellent restaurants and museums. We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect for enjoying everything Santa Fe has to offer. The house itself is full of Santa Fe charm — the house is even prettier than it appears in the photos — and beautifully decorated. There are nice courtyards in the front and back, and it’s truly pet friendly. The kitchen is well-equipped for anyone who wants to eat at the house. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Ellie's was all I hoped it would be and more. I felt right at home the moment I stepped in the door--all the beautiful artwork and pottery made it special, the kitchen had all I could ask for, including coffee setup and wine, and it was a great place to relax. And the views! I could see the Sangre de Cristos from the living room, the master bedroom and the outside patios--while I was there they went from bright yellow aspen, to clouds, and then to snow--what fun to watch the change of seasons over the period of a week. Don't miss the stars at night--the skies are so clear and the stars so bright that I found myself going outside in the middle of the night just to see them.
Ellies already held a special place in my heart. I had always wondered what one could see from the top of the hill above Buena Vista and the view was what I hoped it would be. To add a bit of history to this wonderful home: back in the 1940's and early 1950's the hospital was full because of the baby boom so private homes were turned into "cradle homes" complete with doctors and nurses. New mothers stayed 2 weeks in those days, so a home-like place was most welcome to them. Ellie's was named "Reese's Cradle Home" and I was one of the lucky babies born there during the 1940's. Seeing the framed page from my baby book, filled out by my Dad, complete with the photograph he took and his beautiful printing, gave me a lump in my throat and made me feel like his spirit was with me all week. My mother loved the stars, so that added to my enjoyment of them.
I was born just before Thanksgiving, so the Cradle Home served Thanksgiving Dinner, not just to the new moms but to their husbands as well--my parents used to tell me about how they enjoyed it.
So, when you stay at Ellie's, know it is not only a wonderful place for travelers to Santa Fe but also as a place where new lives began their journeys. My own journey continued to the school a block away, and I enjoyed hearing recess voices which reminded me of the times I had spent there as well.
Not only did I enjoy Ellie's: so did my family. They enjoyed seeing such a beautiful place and comparing it to the photo in the hall.
Reina, thank you so very much for creating such a welcoming place and for sharing our memories about it. I look forward to a return trip and staying at Ellie's once again!

The home was absolutely beautiful, and exactly as described. It was a quick walk into the beautiful downtown Santa Fe area. We did not do any cooking, but found a fully appointed kitchen. We are 4 adults in our late 50s, And used the home as a base for trips to the Albuquerque balloon festival and to Taos, Los Alamos, and the bandolier monument. Would recommend this lovely home to all. When we were confused as to how to access the garage and reached out to Rena, she called us immediately. A wonderful experience, accompanied by bottle of wine and coffee and creamer awaited us in the morning.

This is more than a wonderful comfortable home away from home, it is walkable to everywhere you would want to be or a very short drive. Perfect location, a couple of blocks from a food market, food trucks, and a consignment shop. And 15 minute walk to the center of town and a ten minute walk to a great neighborhood book store. I am a hiker and found great hikes from St John's parking lot about a 5 minutes drive away.
Also Reina's property is filled with beautiful pottery displayed all around the common area including a well-equipped kitchen, dining and living room area. And there are books galore about Santa Fe and New Mexico. I even had a chance to read about Georgia O'Keefe from a book on the coffee table that enhanced my visit to the musuem and her home in Abiquque'.

It was such a delight to stay at the Casa Ellie -- awesome location for walking to the Plaza (and other cute spots along the way!) and beautifully furnished! We enjoyed hanging outside and had many leisurely breakfasts and happy hours. The artwork is such a bonus, as was the awesome kitchen and flow of the house. We felt right at home with the delicious coffee, definitely hope to return before too long!

This property was amazing in so many ways - warmly comfortable, beautifully decorated, well stocked (even half and half!), and quick friendly responses to any questions. It was well located for shopping, sightseeing and dining - either an easy walk or short drive. We were there for a family wedding, and we found it easy to park and attend the wedding events. Since we spent a few extra days, we enjoyed several attractions. I would highly recommend this VRBO to everyone that wants to visit Santa Fe.
