Nestled in Kawartha Lakes, this lovely cottage for $329 per night is a great choice for your next break. Log home on Shadow Lake with large grass area, beach, boat dock, bbq deck, firepit. Inside is a large open living room with massive fireplace, 2 bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed, 1 large master bedroom (w/king bed) on the main floor and a TV/4th bedroom perfect for kids to bunk together that has 2 double size futons. Most suited for 4 to 6 adults and smaller children. On the deck you will find a built-in hottub as well as a bbq and plenty of Muskoka chairs! We also have an outdoor firepit!! The view from the deck and main k windows is south down the lake, just lovely! We are 5 kms away from the town of Coboconk which has the Patti House (famous local landspot!), a Subway, Foodland, beer store, LCBO. 20 minutes to Fenellon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Minden (home to the world famous Kawartha Dairy). We are perfect for families with small children and adult family reunions. This is the second time we’ve rented the log home and couldn’t recommend more! Communication with owners was super smooth and as always, the cottage is very well appointed. Curl up with a book by the big fire place, or relax in the hot tub. It’s the perfect get away and just under two hours from Toronto.

It was great as usual. The futon mattresses in the downstairs bedrooms could be replaced. They have a sag in the middle. Other than that it was anotger perfect weekend

We rented this stunning cottage for our annual fishing trip and were very pleased with our choice. The hosts communicated well and gave us all the information we needed for our arrival. The cottage was clean, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We got quite a bit of fishing in and ate like kings. I will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend it to anyone that is considering renting this beautiful cottage

Jane and Carl are such generous hosts. We love this cottages so much we try to rent it a few times a year. Its big and homey, and right on a lovely lake. The kids now have their "own" room they claim every time we come back!

Such a beautiful place to spend a week! Calm waters to kayak or paddle board in, everything in the cottage you could possibly need including a king size bed, plus a hot tub! Perfect fire pit for bonfires. Coboconk is very close, so groceries, LCBO and pizza are easy to get. Hosts are helpful and friendly via text. Will definitely book again

Amazing cottage with a great amount of space and privacy. Lots of areas inside and on the property to hang out and play games/ do activities. Cottage is bright and open, water is clean full of wildlife and is interesting to explore. Very close to town/lcbo/groceries etc. Jane was so wonderfully kind. We enjoyed every second (dogs included)!

Excellent experience at this lakefront property. Beautiful home, lots of features including hot tub, fireplace, BBQ, and watercraft- owners were very responsive to concerns, and provided excellent orientation information. Would return for another weekend getaway!

It was our third time staying in this cottage during winter. We feel so comfortable in it and find it perfect for our family. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, there is a huge common area (kitchen open concept, living room, dining room, fire place) with large windows overlooking Shadow lake. The kitchen is well equipped to cook family meals and the dining table is perfect to sit a large family. We love all of the cottage decorations, which are all nature themed. The hot tub is of course a hit too! It is also really nice to have several TVs and have access to Netflix etc. This is a beautifully designed, dream cottage. We hope to come back in the future!

We found this lovely cottage originally as a pet friendly property. Then as a getaway for us, then we invited two friends, then two more friends. The hosts were beyond accommodating. All booking and communication was excellent. The property is beautiful, the view of Shadow Lake in the Winter is very nice, considering it does not freeze over. It's very relaxing watching the water flow. Kitchen, master, washrooms are all spacious and equipped beyond necessity. Hopefully, we will be welcomed back next year, if life permits! Thanks to the Owners, for an awesome, well needed getaway.

This place is a quaint home. You can definitely tell it’s not a newer home by any means but certainly lovely none the less. We stayed in the winter and it was so peaceful and quiet since no neighbours were around on the lake that time of year. It was so lovely to have the hot tub and wood burning fireplace on the cold cold days. Sleeping was great for two families and beds were reasonable. Views were amazing!

This beautiful home has hosted our yearly girls weekend away for 3 years straight. The hosts are so easy going and easy to communicate with. Booking was a breeze. The home is spacious and cozy and the views breathtaking. Not to mention the outside hot tub! We can’t wait to book again next year!

This was our first time using VRBO. Definately will not be our last. This rental is gorgeous, you can see the love and care in this cottage from the moment you walk in. My husband and our young adult kids really enjoyed our stay over New Years 2022-2023. All the comforts of home and then some! Beautiful watching swans swim right by the cottage, beautiful, peaceful location.

This is our third time renting the cottage and we love it more every time. It instantly feels like home. Very cozy with everything you need already there. Just bring your clothes, food and some firewood. The owners are great and communication is easy. Looking forward to coming back again.

We had an AMAZING time at the cottage! It was large enough for our 2 families, has everything that you could need and is gorgeous…..the pictures don’t do it justice! The location was picture perfect for star-gazing, boating, fishing and nightly fires. We made wonderful memories and hope to come back next summer!

I agree with so many of the positive things already stated about this wonderful cottage in other reviews. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The kitchen is very well stocked. In my opinion, the cottage looks and feels more amazing that even the wonderful pictures show. We hope we will be able to stay at this cottage again next year. Jane was was so kind and helpful.

We had a great time staying at Jane and Carl’s beautiful home on Shadow Lake. Our kids (6 & 10) had an absolute blast. We enjoyed playing in the backyard, paddling on the lake and sitting by the campfire. The house itself is stunning. Communication with Jane was great and very straightforward. We’d love to come back!

This is a little late, however we stayed here for 4 days for my fathers 80th birthday. It was amazing, couldn't have asked for a better time. The property and the cottage was perfect. Clean, well stocked, wonderful spaces to enjoy time. Already looking at dates next year to rebook.
