Jewel in Center of Florence, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, One level, AC, WiFi, W\/D
About this condo rental
Situated in Florence, this attractive condo for $192 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Located on the first floor of a historical building (formerly a convent), in the Santa Croce section of Florence, near Duomo, Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and the Verdi Theater. This fabulous property offers elegant living and dining with all the modern amenities. The social area includes a large Dining Room and a Living Room/Bar with high cassettone ceilings and terracotta floors. Both the Master Bedroom (King-size bed) and Bedroom 2 (Queen-size bed) include a private full bathroom. In addition, a queen-size sofa bed in the Living room allows for two (2) more people to be lodged, if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a conventional and a microwave oven, as well as a dishwasher. There is a washer and dryer (please ask for use instructions as everything is in Italian) and air conditioning. Ideally located in the Centro Historico of Florence, guests need only a 2-minute walk to reach the closest grocery store, or they can walk 8 more minutes and reach one of the greatest markets in the city: Sant’Ambrogio. ATM, pharmacy, coffee shops and more are all within a 5-minute walk. The city's greatest attraction, the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, is a five-minute walk, but you see the beautiful Duomo around the corner from the apartment. The landmark Santa Croce church houses famous Florentine art and the tombs of remarkable Florentines like Dante and Michelangelo; the church is also the focal point of one of the most genuine neighborhoods left in the old center. While the area's western edge abuts the medieval district around Piazza della Signoria -- Via de' Bentaccordi/Via Torta actually traces the outline of the old Roman amphitheater -- much of the district was rebuilt after World War II in long blocks of creamy yellow plaster buildings with residential shops and homes. Few tourists roam off Piazza Santa Croce, so if you want to feel like a city resident, stay here. This neighborhood also boasts some of the best restaurants in the city.

We had such a wonderful and comfortable stay in Florence. The VRBO is perfectly situated in the heart of Florence and we could easily walk everywhere. The communication and check-in process was so easy and the apartment has everything you could possible need.

Very responsive and helpful management. Wonderfully decorated old world charm in a great location. Everything worked beautifully.

This location is central to everything. Loved it. The apartment was awesome, spacious, clean and nicely equipped. Would stay here again in a second.

Nice place but lack of ample electricity made stay unpleasant.
Could not run a/c if blow drier or clothes steamer were also plugged in....resulted in blown fuse/tripping power off throughout apartment.
Hot temps throughout week didn't help.

Location was great! We enjoyed staying here.

Prior to arrival, communication with the property manager (Nita) was clear, timely and a delight. She met us at the residence and had even stocked cold bottled waters in the fridge, turned on the fans and air conditioning (it was unseasonably warm) and greeted us with a delightful attitude! The property is spacious, quiet and elegant. Centrally located, we could easily access any historical sites or delicious restaurants. The linens were lovely. The residence was a true beauty in a city boasting extraordinary art. This was a true find and I would highly recommend staying at Casa Balducci. Bellissimo!!

Nita met us at the rental and walked us through check-in. The art is beautful and the furnishings and overall size of the place was comfortable for our group of 4 adults. The laundry room and hallway of storage closets was useful for unpacking and staying on top of laundry. We enjoyed the

This apartment was very nice and clean. It was quite spacious and was decorated nicely. The location was amazing and was a short walk to the Duomo, Uffizi etc. and the neighborhood had great restaurants, shops etc. The lady who met us, Nita, was very kind and helpful,

This property was a great location for visiting Florence. It was perfect size for 2 couples and the property team was very helpful and responsive.

Firstly, our hostess Nitia was absolutely fantastic. She went out of her way to make both the check in and check out process very easy.
The apartment is nicely furnished, the beds were very comfortable and the shower and bathtub worked perfectly.
The location of the apartment is central to all points of interest in Florence. We never used a taxi - easy walks to everywhere.
However, the apartment is located in a very loud area of the city. Quiet in the day but extremely noisy at night and through early morning. Bars and clubs downstairs and around the corner from the apartment made it impossible to sleep. The noice didn’t stop until 4am.
When you enter the building there was a sewage smell - luckily the smell was contained to the hallway and didn’t get into the apartment.
We were looking forward to preparing some home cooked meals but the cleanliness of the kitchen was a turnoff (especially the vent above the stovetop).

Location near Santa Croce ideal for the sights we visited. Apartment very nice but one bedroom/bath on the small side.

This apartment exceeded all expectations. It was in the perfect place to enjoy Florence. We felt extremely safe plus it was just beautifully furnished and decorated. Our host left us water, cream, coffee and a nice bottle of prosecco. Really could not find a better home away from home. Thank you Nita!

We arrived in Florence in early April and this lovely home in the city was just perfect for our family. We arrived via train to the Santa Maria Novella station and walked the approx. 20 minutes to the VRBO. Probably should have taxi'd, as the roads are super cobbly and there were tons of people as we dragged 3 suitcases/backpacks through the streets. (we probably should've checked this prior :)) The address was a little confusing, so just be sure you have it in advance... however, the welcoming crew (Nita) was super in communicating with us, both on location the day of and check in time. We thought we'd be early, but she confirmed we could drop our luggage and go out an explore while they finished readying the home. The VRBO itself was such a cool find! 2nd floor, so expect a small number of stairs. The home seemed authentically Italian, clean and large living area, with a great kitchen stocked with coffee, water, and the other basics. The dining area and living room were both lovely and spacious, with a pull out comfy bed in the living area for an extra person (or teen that doesn't want to sleep in the queen with his brother). The main bedroom had a really comfortable king bed, and the secondary queen room was also great. Both had attached bathrooms...as you'd expect for Italy, they're smaller than our American bathrooms, but just fine either way. The place is right in the middle of some great shops and places for snacks, a super quick walk (turn right out the door) to Piazza Santa Croce where there is an awesome patisserie and gold market/jewelry shops... and at the end of the block out the door to the left is a place for yummy croissants, espresso, sandwiches, etc.. and by far THE best Moscow Mule (hand muddled ginger) at John Borno Caffe I've ever had. As our departure neared, we realized we'd need a few extra hours in the home, and again Nita was super accommodating and let us leave our packed up luggage, while they started the cleaning process, as we walked around a bit more waiting until our train time. This was so helpful and a really nice perk. The owners/managers were just great. We would absolutely recommend and hope to be back and stay here again!

This is the perfect spot to stay in Florence. This property has everything you could want and it is very spacious. There are many amazing restaurants near by and all the local tourist spots within walking distance. Grocery store was also very close. Property manager was also very nice and helpful.

Apartment and Location was perfect for easy walk to all prime locations. Apartment was large and very comfortable. Only downside was a bar in the alley around the corner was very loud late at night. It didn't bother us much but to those needing quite this might bug you. To us we loved the location and the apartment.

This apartment is 10 minutes walking distance to the Duomo and a further 10 minutes to the train station. It is on a busy street, but very quiet inside. It is on the first floor, accessible by a tall flight of stairs. The living and dining areas are spacious, however the kitchen is relatively small with minimal counter space. We often used the dining table as a prep area, thus reducing the number of cooks in the kitchen. On the other hand, the kitchen has a large gas stove, dishwasher and microwave and is superbly stocked with a variety of utensils, pots, pans, glasses and dishes, dish towels and pot holders. There are also lots of basics like sugar, salt, oil, vinegar, and even spices. We were also met with a package of coffee, two glass jars of jelly candy, and a couple bottles of water in the fridge, which were a pleasant surprise. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the third bathroom. A hallway leads to the two bedrooms from the living area. The master bedroom is comfortable and the wooden shutters made for a nicely dark room and a peaceful sleep. The comfortable king size bed is high from the ground and required a little jump to get in. The master ensuite is a good size, with all the usual pieces including a bidet. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a chest of drawers, although they were inconvenient to use due to the smaller size of the bedroom. We ended up using the large wall closet in the hallway, which also stored extra blankets and pillows, to hang up our clothes. The second ensuite bathroom is small and the shower is tight. There is limited space for the toiletries around the sink. Overall, the apartment is lovely and well appointed and most importantly, the location is convenient to almost every point of interest in Florence

property manager stayed late to meet us and welcome us into the home. She showed us around. Had the home decorated for birthday and our anniversary celebration. Location is paramount to exploring all the sites in Florence. Would strongly recommend however if stairs are an issue be advised of a long first flight . For most US travelers we would describe it as second-floor accommodations. House was very spacious and we would definitely come back. Thank you

We loved everything about this place from the location to the size of the place. Nita checked us in and gave us a rundown of everything. Just minutes to all of the major attractions. The neighborhood was full of bars and restaurants to enjoy. The only thing that needed fixed was the shower head in the main bedroom. Hard to take a 1 handed shower while holding the shower head because the holder is broke. Other than that we had a great stay.

The apartment is very comfortable and roomy for 4-6 people. Location is perfect! Much better than 2 hotel rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming apartment in a great location. Nita the property manager was waiting for us on our arrival and gave us a thorough briefing where everything was located and how to work the various features of the apartment. The unit is located about an 8 minute walk to the Duomo and has parking (if needed) and a super market within 2 blocks. There are many little shops and restaurants close, but we enjoyed the apartment so much we actually ate in two of our four nights. Our stay exceeded our expectations and if we ever go back to Florence we will be sure to see if this place is available.

Looks just like the pics. Nita (property manage) was wonderful! She explained everything about the apt. She stocked the fridge with bottles of water and put out coffee for our use. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, herbs and spices, etc. for cooking. Casa Balducci is a block from a grocery market, coffee shop, pizza shop. A great little wine show right next door. Easy walk to the central market, Ponte Vecchio bridge and all the historic district. Would definitely stay there again!

Lovely property, fantastic location! Plenty of space for a family, great place to relax in between day trips and enjoying this beautiful, beautiful city. We love Florence!! This property is super convenient and close to many of the popular sites. The kitchen is wonderful, bathrooms are a good size, property was super clean and ready for us upon arrival. Loved having a washer and dryer for laundry time. Just a note, if you are visiting in the heat of the summer, this property has portable cooling units, which don't always do the best job in large spaces. In the bedrooms however, it was perfect, just shut the bedroom door, trap that cold air and you are good. Highly recommend, you will enjoy your stay!

This was the perfect location for our family of 4, two teen girls included. The apartment is huge! We never used the kitchen or dining room but the living room and bedrooms were perfect. We would book again.

Great location!
The location was excellent, only 10-15 walk to any attraction. Great restaurants nearby and a supermarket right across the street. Nita was very nice and allowed us to leave our luggage. Air conditioning works great and there's a washer and a dryer in the apartment which was super convenient. There's no elevator in the building and the apartment is on the first floor, but that was not a problem for us. Overall very clean, however, there are areas that need a better cleaning work since they were a bit dusty. I recommend this apartment to everybody because it is really nice and clean.

Nice apartment, convenient location
This was a nice little apartment. It was well appointed, which was VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. Very easy to get to all sights and restaurants. There is an am pm wine bar for simple supplies next door, and a great coffee shop on the block. Everyone on the block was very friendly. Felt very much part of a neighborhood.
It felt a little crowded with three teenagers and two adults, but if there were two couples it would be fine. It says first floor but in Europe there is floor zero so still had to haul a lot of stuff up a somewhat steep staircase.

Casa Balducci Exceeded Expectations…
We loved Casa Balducci and would definitely stay there again if/when we return to Florence. It was very clean, spacious, comfortable, and ideally located. Everything was as advertised. The property manager was also great; very informative, responsive, and genuinely nice and friendly.
Grazie mille, Casa Balducci!!

My husband and I along with our son and daughter in law stayed in the apartment for a week. The location is a quick walk to all the sights. Communication with the owner was timely and effective. He answered all my questions very promptly. I would definitely rent this apt again on our return to Florence!

This apartment was even better than we expected! It was spacious, very clean and located within walking distance of most major sites, shopping and restaurants. The check-in process was very easy and the hosts were very accommodating. We arrived several hours earlier than the check-in time and they allowed us to come by and view the apartment and drop off our luggage while they were getting it ready for our stay. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a prime location in Florence!

Fabulous Home Base for Florence!
This is a beautiful and spacious apartment in Florence that was a wonderful home base for myself and two adult daughters. I wanted to show my daughters how a Florntine lives. This apartment was super clean, had a lovely kitchen, huge dining room, living room and THREE bathrooms. The washer and dryer were easy to use, the owners and managers were great. I’m now in a cramped and depressing hotel room in Rome, and I’m telling you, I am FINISHED with hotels!!! VRBO is the only way to go!!!!

Casa Balducci was all it was advertised to be. Great location, beautifully appointed apartment, lots of room, comfy beds and towels and very clean. Also wonderful to have four air conditioners to rely on! Nita was a fantastic host and answered all of our questions. We were able to walk to all the key attractions and locations in the city. Every attention to detail was considered in the welcome book. I will refer this apartment to friends and will absolutely rent again when we return to Florence.
