Well I discovered that this neighborhood is close to 1,000 things. And the city of San Francisco is improving everything. The transition is amazing. It is one mile or less to everything! Finally, I love to walk and this area is rare - it is flat. Nice.
Well is can be a little loud from 8 to midnight. Nothing else was bad and the employees were super.

They use regular keys, for some reason I love that. Low-key, easy-going desk guys. The other guests are really respectful and very quiet.the room was old, but clean. elevator always works.i have started using my own sheets, pillows/pillowcases,and towels in all hotels that's a personal preference. bathrooms are shared, although they have private bathroom rooms...
It is so loud ALL NIGHT in the alley below the window; AND because of poor planning on sf's part frigging really loud jackhammers start at 8am. in Bad neighborhood ,(I had zero issues, but Joe public won't like it). There is a steep set of stairs just to the check in area, no elevator (there is one from there) hard to lug if you have any heavy stuff.

A cheap room near the Moscone convention center, that's it. You probably won't catch a disease, and you probably won't be assaulted. The locals keep to themselves and are pretty harmless. Though it's a rough neighborhood to be sure!
This is a rough neighborhood. Lots of poverty, lots of addiction and illness. The hotel is quite worn from heavy use/abuse. It does not meet the typical standards of cleanliness for a hotel. And don't expect much in the way of basic amenities. Bring a towel, bring earplugs, and bring sheets if you can.
