Been fabulous weekend

Very convenient to town. Accept pups 🐶 that’s the reason why I booked for 2 nights for my husband birthday present 🙂

A fabulous stay in a conveniently positioned, clean and comfortable property.

The property was in a great position, really close to the centre of Keswick. The room was very clean and comfortable and the owners were attentive, helpful and friendly. Lovely breakfast too!

Superb

Very dog friendly - treats and bowls in the room. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room and bathroom decorated to a high standard and exceptionally clean. Easy walk to the centre of town.

Lovely B&B with some not so great issues

If you want to walk in to the town perfect spot. Quiet. Rooms great, clean and tidy with tea making facilities. Breakfast was delicious. The place is spotless.

Parking not quite what you expect whilst it's available and free, it's actually on street parking and a bit of a game of chess jostling for a spot. I waited 20 mins after driving around a bit in stealth mode waiting for a space. When unloading luggage too it's a pain if your 2 streets down from the B&B that needs to be reflected by the owners. I have a dog but one thing I don't agree with is dogs in the dining room. Health and safety for me was an issue the owners having the front door latch taped down so you can't use it. At times if someone is coming in turned the key too far, guests cannot get out. The owners have to be notified to go outside and unlock it and let guests out. That is a fire hazard. Finally, upon arrival (I have stayed in many B&B) I wasn't through the door a minute and asked for payment. Took me by surprise at how quick I was asked, machine was out the pocket in a flash. That was extremely off putting. Literally under 1 minute from arrival. Would have been better for me to offload the car which I had spent 20 mins trying to find a spot, driven 2.5hrs to get there. Get sorted then paid. Not an issue paying day 1 (all other B&B ask on departure). It's the manner it was done. I bumped in to a fellow guest in the town and they said the same thing so wasn't just me. They are also not returning. Would I stay here again. No. Based on: it was 50/50 you get parked nearby it was a risk. The arrival and demand for payment "cash or card" straight away and the door locking scenario. If you are looking to spend your time in and around Keswick and not move your car, this is the place for you

Very clean, tidy and well- provisioned room. Literally 5 minute's walk to the centre of Keswick. Lovely breakfast with sufficient choice.

We are used to a large bed, so the standard double bed felt small to us.

Perfect first holiday with our dog

Amazing holiday! We loved Winchester House so much and will definitely be back. The owners were both so friendly and helpful with tip for places to walk and to try out. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for our 7 month old Cockapoo to feel comfortable in. We had breakfast both mornings and it was delicious. Winnie especially loved the doggie sausage she got. Definitely coming back to stay here on our next visit to Keswick.

Parking was a struggle but we found a spot after driving around the streets. This is not the owners fault though it’s just a busy area.

I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

We’ll appointed room, very clean with good provision of refreshments. Decoration/furnishings were attractive and the chair provided was comfortable. The dining facilities were good and instructions for access were clear

. There was nothing I didn’t like but I would make two small suggestions: Bedroom 2 - it was tight for space on the side for hanging clothes. Perhaps the hangers could be elsewhere for easier access Breakfast - perhaps there could be one further option for a ‘ continental’ style meal. I.e. croissant/danish pastry.

Friendly and comfortable small hotel. Would stay there again.

Nice comfortable room. The property is in a quiet area, however the main centre of the town is only a five minute walk away. Genuinely dog friendly and a lovely park nearby for exercising dog. Good breakfast with mostly locally supplied food and good coffee.

Parking is difficult. No private car park. Parking is in nearby streets where there are hardly any spaces.

Lovely, clean and charming b&b in a great location near to town centre.

Lovely comfortable room, very clean throughout and a lovely breakfast. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely recommend and also stay here again.

I liked everything about my stay and so did my dog Jackson. The location is good for walking and near to the lovely Fitz park. The breakfast was really delicious. Thank you for my relaxing stay.

Helped make a good visit to Keswick a great one.

Welcoming and helpful, very clean, comfortable and excellent ensuite. Bowls,treats, towels supplied for dogs. Easy to park nearby, and a convenient and quiet location with a view of the fells.

Very welcoming lady (not the owner - we never met them) Room more than adequate with decent ensuite. Good shower. We appreciated being able to book a time for breakfast rather than everyone arriving down at the same time Perfect location with on street parking outside the establishment. Easy 10 minute walk into Keswick. Would definitely stay again.

Although we realised (and were very happy that the towels weren't changed unecessarily) We didn't realise the bed wouldn't be made - I would have done it otherwise as I do at home! Never come across this before.

Amazing

I liked everything about here... it was close to the town centre, with it being just a short walk away. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Everything was perfect, the beds were so comfy.

The only thing I would suggest to make things easier for yourselves would be to put breakfast cards on the room with tick boxes.... however your service was so fast in the mornings this wouldn't be an issue for you just a thought. Thank you so much.

Fantastic views

Great location, friendly owner.

A king-size bed would have been better. It would have been useful to know there was a fridge that we could use. It's located at the back of a door, so we didn't see it until we were leaving.

Nice place but if fuel prices are high charge a little bit more and turn on the heat.

The breakfast was great, the location was great. The room was a nice room and a nice bathroom. The

One night it got to minus four with ten cm of snow. The radiator heat was shut off at 9pm and was supposed to start up at 7am but it barely trickled on. We wore our jackets in the room. The water heated towel rack warmers barely were turned on. By the way we are from Canada and can take the cold so you know the room was cold.

Fantastic dog friendly guest house in Keswick

A lovely guest house only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. Free residential parking outside or very near to the house. Great hosts who are very dog friendly, not just dog tolerant. Great breakfasts too.

Very nice

The Hotel was very clean and the landlady very friendly. Perfect location with only a 2 min walk to the town centre. Breakfast was very nice. Dogs were welcome in all rooms.
