A calm stay overlooking canals and greenery

My friend and I really enjoyed staying at Mercure. The staff was very friendly; they offered us free drinks and early check-in. The room was absolutely comfortable and cozy, and the overall vibe was calm and welcoming. The view from higher floors is breathtaking!

The room was a bit smaller than we expected (but still comfy and clean), and the location is a good 10-minute walk from the metro station (which we didn't mind, but could be hard while carrying baggage).

We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam and our trip was made so much better knowing we had a clean, safe, and well furnish

I loved how modern and clean it was!

It was a little bit far from the center of town but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

one of our worst hotel stays

kind staff

One of our rooms was not made ready when we arrived, so we had to change room and didn’t get rooms close together. The hair dryer broke into flames! All lightning in the bathroom disappeared, so we had to change room again late at night - now to another floor. We could not reach the reception by the phone in the room, so we had to go downstairs to the reception and wait in line every time. The electricity in the other room also seemed unstable, with lamps loosing light when we used the kettle. The rooms seemed old and worn with a superficial update. Worst was the malfunctioning of the escalators - it stopped abruptly several times between floors and took us to other floors than we had asked for. Ended up using the stairs and were happy to leave a malfunctioning hotel in a very gloomy area.

Staff was friendly and the facilities were nice.

The restaurant was closed on Sunday evening and there are not many other options in the neighborhood. The hotel has a little grocery store corner, but the prices there are really high.
