We had a wonderful stay at Hillthwaite Hotel. The hotel was beautiful with amazing views, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were really welcoming and attentive.
The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner delicious first class, delicious and beautifully presented.
A special thanks for the thoughtful birthday card and the lovely decorations in the room when we arrived. It was such a lovely gesture!
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the Hillthwaite Hotel to anyone visiting the Lake District. We hope to return again! ❤️

Breakfasts were excellent. But a special mention to Claire and Louise and especially Santa who really made a difference for us in the bar and the restaurant. And an even bigger special mention to Joanne on the front desk who rescued our weekend with a last minute room change
Honestly very little. But it would help to know which rooms do and don't have baths. The lovely photo's of the premium rooms with baths on the booking page sort of raise your expectations and of course not all rooms can be the same. Leading potentially to unintentional but significant heart ache. Also, some internal lighting in the wardrobe in room 16 would be welcome. When you open the doors to the wardrobe it blocks out any light from the room and its hard to see what your doing or read the safe numbers as they are not back-lit.

Location of the hotel and parking
The room had no clock, the bathroom was far too small as there was nowhere to hang your towels and place your toiletries as the shelf was filled with the bath towels, the power outlets were in places that were in a very strange locations that were not easily accessible, the cooked breakfast was probably a at most a 4 out of ten, no taste at all
