The staff was lovely - on arrival and throughout. The room is delightful, and I am not sure - must check! - if we were given an upgrade, but it was lovely to have two rooms, unexpectedly. The bathroom was large, and each room had windows with excellent views onto a charming street. The curtains and shutter and window set up was very thoughtful in terms of allowing a luminous filtered light during the day that was tremendously appealing, yet at night, especially for someone who is sensitive to light and usually needs blackout curtains, the light was not a problem at all as the blinds et al did a good job of blocking unwanted light. The room has been kept in impeccable condition and is excellently clean and fresh and decorated with thought and practicality in mind. I also appreciated the easy and gracious communication with staff prior to my arrival, confirming a few things that are important to a medical condition and even offering to keep my medicines colder than the mini bar in the room. (The latter proved to be just fine.)
I was surprised that I was not given any notice that there would be construction in several of the public areas that had drawn me to make the booking in the first place. I am not terribly particular in general as long as the essentials are provided, which they surely were, but I did think it was a little funny to lean heavily on parts of the hotel that wouldn't be available. But, really, the hotel was wonderful in all of the important ways, and we had a terrific time.

I loved the property and staff were excellent.I would have given a 10 but the lounge, restaurant and bar closed while I was there for painting.
Also the spa treatments finished at 3.30 one day and closed for next two so this was disappointing.
However, I would stay again and certainly highly recommend as next time these would hopefully be open!
Not close the treatments down for two full days perhaps a gap between days or another therapist be hired
Certainly have availability until at least 7pm
It was unfortunate the days I stayed the full facilities were not open so there was nowhere to relax inside the hotel except your room
Breakfasts were not at the standard of other hotels I had experienced in Europe

Good location, nice atmosphere, helpful staff. Enjoyed the breakfast room and buffet .
Room was VERY small. We needed to climb over the bed to maneuver around the roommate. No shower, clawfoot tub. I was handicapped so very difficult bathing situation. Every day we had to ask for washcloths or additional hand towels.
