I had such a fantastic time at Hanoi City Backpackers Hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. They are genuinely friendly, always smiling, and went out of their way to help me with directions and local recommendations.
The location is absolutely perfect. It sits right in the heart of the Old Quarter, meaning you can easily walk to all the main attractions, night markets, and street food spots without needing a taxi.
For the price you pay, the value for money is unbeatable. The rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere is social, and it's the perfect base for exploring the city. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to Vietnam—this hostel is a must-try!

Comfortable bed
Rats in the walls, you can hear them at night. The bathroom is in the room with only glass separating it from the bed. I ended up staying in the lavender boutique hotel, which is not what I booked. When I checked into City Backpackers Hanoi they transported me there calling it an “upgrade” which is was not because that property is actually cheaper online, additionally they took me there on the back of a motorbike with no helmet “across the street” which was not across the street but several blocks away.
