overall an amazing stay

the faro for adult only was amazing. lots of choices. great view. never over crowded, waitresses were exceptional (elisabeth) knew our order by heart by the third day. very nice. we went back every morning and lunch. our room was very spacious, always cleaned well. good dinner options. lots of activities on site. we went here for a wedding and it was beautiful. the bartender in heaven and the bar next to umo were beyond amazing. the girl who bardended at umo made delicious and beautiful drinks. eduardo in heaven was so friendsly and knew drinks by heart. shout out to everyone. amazing staff and good food and drinks. lots of wild moneys between 530-630 between buildings 1-2 in the back

honestly just the beaches. they were well maintained, cleaned every day. lots of beautiful fish to swim with but the beaches were just too small. i know the tides in mexico are strong but more swimming for bigger beach areas would be nicer

They need to prepare better and rethink their strategy especially for the Heaven side

the lobby was beautiful

the rooms need to be upkept better. Not really giving what the photos on the internet show. Also their adult only section was not a true adult only.. they did not have a DJ at the adult pool which did not cater to a diverse group with the music . having to share a lobby with families was not the best experience.. Children running everywhere cause the parents didn’t know how to tell them to sit down . also not many activities like most resorts or things to do at night to cater to adults only . Just not the best

Exceptional

Everything. Was my 4th time staying there and they are always doing renovations. They had 3 new restaurants since my last stay. Excellent service from the staff and the rooms are very luxurious.

The disco was in renovation, but the bar was great.

Superb

Hotel was nice and cleaned, excellent wifi. Good food and variability in buffee and restaurants. Staff was very firendly and provided a quick service. Enough beach chairs to everyone, no need to go early in the morning, do not miss the spot, like most of the hotels. Hotel had program for every night - live bands, music, shows etc. Good location, very close to Tulum and Playa del Carmen, we used the taxi only. They had nice small swimming areas next to cliff. First we missed the long sand beach to swim in waves but after visiting beach in Cancun we were glad to see different options about the beaches.

We had all inclusive and they had excellent room service 24/7, but they did not serve coctails with alcohol to the room, it was possible to order only food, soft drinks and beer to the room. They said it will be with extra cost, but we did not get the information how much it will be, or which number to use for the order. So, I think we were drinking less coctails as we wished, and instead bought some from local shops to the room. Since hotel is located on quite big area, bars were quite far from our room.

Worst hotel ever

Nothing avoid at all costs there's much nicer places to stay.

We checked into The Hard Rock Hotel Riveria Maya on September the 9th to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had booked a sky deluxe room for 5 nights on booking.com on checking into our room we were highly disappointed as we looked straight out to a noisy unsightly building site. We called reception immediately and were told there were no available rooms to move us to so we had to stay put in this room until the following night. The building site was not the only issue with this room. There was mould on the ceiling and the floor was filthy my feet had turned black from walking in the room, please see the attached photos. On the second day we were moved to another room and the bell boy that assisted us with our move has completely ruined our luggage they now have blue paint scratched into both our suitcases, one was a brand new suitcase which is now ruined. Although the second room did not look out to a building site the room was still not up to standards as there was hair and pubic hair on the floor, mould on the sheets and an awful musty damp smell in the room. The issues hadn't stop there as our main door wasn't locking properly and the toilet room door couldnt close fully either, the toilet also made continuous noise after each flush. We found the site itself was still under a lot of construction and the photos of what we were expecting didn't live up to the reality although the staff did make a big effort to provide excellent customer service, the rooms and facilities weren't what we were expecting which is why we had to check out earlier. This was meant to be a nice relaxing holiday as we were travelling all the way from the UK and it's our first time in Mexico.

Disappointing

location and setting

old, our room overlooked a construction site and they wouldn’t change it. rooms were tired. cleaning not great. it was really far to walk from one end to another and no golf carts to take us.

Memories in paradise that will last a lifetime!

I loved the pool atmosphere with the dj. The staff was super friendly and accommodating . The dinner selection was delicious

I didn’t like how the pools close so early. The club was sadly closed. And the night time room service food was not fresh

I didnt like how early things closed, such as Pool bars closed around 5pm and pools closed around 7pm. Also, alcohol was definitely watered down.

lower your expectations and service is terrible at this hotel… dont go!!!

the food was the only thing barely good

they are selling rooms that doesnt have all the facilities and space… they made you sign that you wont sue them…. very disappointed!! i send numerous emails and chat to booking for help and no one helped!! see the pictures attached to want they sold and what we received!!

I’d like to have more music to hear everywhere, like in the bedroom, hallway, restaurants (in some point is just a perception🥶), reception and possibly on the beach where is udibile only the music from the swimming pool in some point.

The equivalent of vacationing in a prison.

Absolutely nothing. Worst service. Disgusting facilities and food. Scam artists. It was like vacationing in a prison.

If I could give this place negative ten stars, that wouldn’t even be close to enough. My boyfriend and I wanted to go to the beach for a vacation and assumed an all inclusive resort would be the most relaxing. Boy, were we wrong. I can write a book on how awful our stay was, but instead I’ll give you the top ten worst experiences there. 1. The hotel does not offer a taxi service from the airport to the hotel, so when you exit your gate you are immediately herded into a crowd of yelling people making you think they can get you a ride but ultimately trying to sell you timeshares. When we finally made our way outside the airport to the loading zone, we were met by 100s of more individuals yelling and screaming to try to get you to get in their taxi. We finally chose someone and they charged us $150 for a one way trip. 2. Upon arrival to the hotel, we checked in and had to fill out quite a bit of paperwork. The check in experience took 45 minutes. Afterwards, the receptionist referred us to her “coworker” to take us to our room but she instead sat us down so she could try to get us to purchase another timeshare at the hotel and become a “member” in order to have “unlimited resort credit” during our stay. We kindly declined and asked to be shown to our room as we were exhausted from our trip. I’ll refer to the “member” perks later* 3. We purchased the nicest room you can buy, which came with two balconies and your own private hot tub. We walked in and were greeted by a sharp moldy mildew smell and floors that were greasy. The shower and hot tub were not clean either, with rusty calcified soap scum and broken faucets. How appealing. 4. Every drink we had there was made with clearly watered down alcohol. They would fill your cup almost to the top with “top shelf alcohol” but you could never taste any alcohol whatsoever no matter what you ordered.

Very nice!

It was beautiful, clean, and the staff was very accommodating in all situations! For the amount of people present the staff did an excellent job with cleaning. They even sent someone to help me get into my suitcase after I locked it & couldn’t remember the code! I thoroughly enjoyed it! My room was amazing with an amazing view!

ok but had much better

we were fine and the stay was good till we had an incident at the pool and we nicely called security but i don't feel like the security did what they're supposed to do instead they kept the other party even though they had started a whole issue with us but bc they kept on talking to the security in Spanish he didn't take action which was very disappointing

just the fact that they ruined our stay and security didn't really do anything and we also asked when we booked to do a little anniversary surprise for my husband like decoration or something it was not done and i couldn't ask for it because he was with me i mean that was fine not a big deal but i wished they did it bc when i called they said they will but it was not done

Amazing trip!

I loved the people and area, everything available and included with your booking. The pools and beaches are to die for!

The only food I enjoyed was at the restaurant “Toro” everything else needed seasoning and was inconsistent. Beware of rooms facing the terrace when it rains, you may get flooding like I did.

Beautiful but not sure I'd go again

The staff was extremely friendly! Especially the ones by the pool, they tried to help us as much as they could with as many people that were there. The resort itself was a beautiful resort

Our first room was pretty dirty and didn't have AC so they switched us to a new room. Whenever they would clean the room they never left us enough towels or toilet paper so we'd always have to call for it. I also got food poisoning so I was out for a couple of days which really sucked on a vacation.

Good

The property was beautiful- lush lawns, beautiful pools and a phenomenal staff.

Our first room was filthy- after only a few minutes, my feet were black with dirt. Second room had mild growing in the shower and extremely dusty/ dirty. The food was mediocre at best, dinner is a slow tedious process generally taking longer than 2 hours.

Heaven but not an adult only

The location is good, with view of the Caribbean. The food is o.k. (not great but ok). The service is quite good, and the staff friendly.

We booked on the “Heaven “ side of the property, which is supposedly and adult-only location. Seems that due to COVID-19 (I assume, not sure) the kid’s part of the property is closed and under renovation, which means there were kids allowed in certain areas where they would (under normal circumstances) not be allowed. Would have been nice to know this in advance. Not that much of an issue, but if one books and adults-only resort, one expects that.
