A wonderful place, particularly if you love Icelandic horses – there are more than 300 horses at the property.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice, spacious bathroom, excellent beds and a nice view over the fields. We also had a door leading directly outside, which was a very nice touch.
Breakfast was excellent and generous, with waffles, scrambled eggs, Skyr and plenty of other choices. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The main reason we chose the hotel was an all day riding tour for my adult daughter. it was a rainy day, but raingear was provided and she loved it. I stayed at the property while waiting for her to return, which was absolutely no problem at all – the staff made me feel very welcome and relaxed.
Dinner was another highlight. I had the lamb and my daughter had the cod. Both dishes were excellent, with slightly unusual and interesting combinations that worked really well.
There is also a wellness area, although I didn’t have the chance to try it.

If you are heading for the highlands it’s the perfect stop. The accommodation is basic but the staff and the food and the help were brilliant. Gas station to. Sauna and gym as well.

The breakfast was good. The staff was nice.
The walls were very thin. It felt very much like sleeping in a camper with its tiny rooms and odd combo toilet/shower bathrooms.

My third time to stay there as the only hotel choice when visiting Landmannalaugar
Prison cell style room, no chair, no table, not even a cup; no any room service for 3 nights stay.
