Perfect hotel to explore the area. Comfortable and clean with friendly staff.

Room was adequate with a view of the glacier. The staff were very friendly. Great walk to the glacier from the hotel. Perfect place to stay in the area. Breakfast was again very adequate and coffee good.

This was our second time at this hotel. First time we enjoy an excellent simple but tasty dinner at a reasonable price for Iceland. This time, when asked if we wanted a reservation for dinner, we of course said yes based on our previous experience. We couldn’t find a menu on line but assumed it would be as before. However, the now menu is very small and extremely expensive…….we ordered two main courses and, while they were good, it was way too “over the top” for the setting. My cod came with all sorts of extras which totally over powered the taste of the simple fish……we heard that the garage over the road served food (the garage is owned by the hotel btw). So next evening we went there. Cafeteria type fast food but was satisfactory for what we needed. I had fish and chips……lots of people from the hotel were there. Especially families with children.

Excellent location on the main road and a beautiful glacier in the back yard. Saw the northern light

Great location within hiking distance of the glacier. Nice eaterie across the road.

No ice available. Resturant a bit pricey.

Ubicación perfecta a 10-15 minutos de todo lo que hay que ver en el glaciar. Desayuno completo y bueno. Te ofrecen llamarte a la habitación durante la noche si hay auroras boreales.

Goed verblijf!

Locatie is super, vlakbij mooie gletsjer. Ontbijt was ook goed. Kamer was klein, maar had alles wat we nodig hadden!

Restaurant was zeer prijzig!

Good stopover on journey round icelad

Location wad good. Food for breakfast and evening meal was good. Excellent service with wake up call to see northern lights

Perfect for our group!

The staff was very accommodating. The surrounding location was stunning and everything was perfect for our group. Breakfast and our one dinner was delicious as well. Also, on our 2nd stay with you all it was so touching to see the hotel put up so many travelers due to the roads being closed due to the wind.

Great stay with nice food next to the glacier

Super friendly and helpful staff! Restaurant had great vegetarian options. Rooms were clean and well equipped.

Our room was a little stinky at first, got better after airing. Some of the older rooms are less cozy than the newer ones - ask for those new ones!

Excellent location for Skaftafell and very comfortable, however the food options were very expensive

The staff were lovely and the location perfect for our plans. The view from the rooms were beautiful and it was easy to find.

The hotel had numerous school groups (70 students) in so we had to sit down in the restaurant within 20 minutes of arriving otherwise they would not accommodate us in the restaurant - this is an issue when it is the only restaurant in the area, with the alternative being a petrol station café across the road. The food was incredibly expensive, and whilst the portion size and quality was fine, we limited ourselves to one course only as we simply could not justify the prices being charged. Breakfast was included and was OK - more designed to satisfy school students than paying guests.

Wonderful location and people but expensive.

The staff were wonderful, the dinner was good too (although very pricey). They also let us take shelter in their bar two-days after our stay when a snow storm closed the road we were travelling on.

Not very big rooms and the food was super expensive.

A clean, comfortable place to stay for 1-2 nights

The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent and far exceed the expectations I had of a 3* property. The property was a convenient place to stop on a drive from Reykjavik to Hofn and the location was also excellent for the stunning Fagurholsmyri Glacier.

The rooms were super warm, super clean and comfortable, but basic and a little on the small side and a little expensive for what they offered.

Very good

Really good location (close to a track to icebergs), good breakfast and also a really good dinner. There is also a good bar with happy hour and a beautiful view.

Double bed is really small, seems not to be a real double bed. So it makes uncomfortable to sleep.

Wonderful setting in nature

Our comfy room had a view of the mountains and glacier, where we could hike right out the door! We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here; the restaurant and bar were excellent, and the location is wonderfully quiet. Nature is everywhere.

Very good

Amazing food! Really exceptional meal in the evening. Quite a surprise given the slightly dated ski lodge feel of the hotel.

It was quite tired - particularly the bathroom.

For one night, it's more than ok.

I've been in Iceland 5 times and this is the most overpriced hotels I've stayed. Small room, a bit old, bed is for 1.5 persons, definitely not for 2. All night long I've been afraid that i will fell down from it. Restaurant overpriced even for icelandic prices. Next time will try to stay in a different place.
