Bed was incredibly comfy. Breakfast was spot on. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. (had the buffet on Saturday) great value for money @ £12.50. Considering it was GNR weekend and there would have been a 'major event tax' as I like to call it the overall price was still very reasonable (£133 I believe). Although I have looked at next years event weekend and the prices are currently to high for me (£230+ so hoping I can catch it when it comes down a bit)
The below may sound like a lot but they do not change the fact how much I enjoyed my stay.
Room 237 - The plug in the sink. When you close it and fill the sink up a bit, opening the plug to let the water back out caused a nasty sewer-like smell.
I was here for the great north run, unfortunately in the restaurant the staff member forgot to give me the GNR specials menu. I ordered from the normal menu albeit nothing was particulary great pre-race meal. Was only after receiving my food did I hear someone else get told 'here is our normal menu and here is our GNR specials menu'. The staff member in question was lovely though and served with a smile so not giving any inclination on who it was due to being a minor mistake.
Race-day breakfast - I just had the option to pay for continental breakfast. Would have been nice to have the option just to pay for a couple of slices of toast. Next year I'd probably just bring my own shop-bought bagels into the room for race morning.

Very comfortable stay at a conveniently located hotel.
Staff were great, especially the member of staff who checked us in (after midnight on 9th October, so technically 10th October! Sorry, I didn't note your name) and Omar on reception. All very helpful and friendly.
Room was lovely and spotlessly clean. Comfy bed, and pillows (one seemed soft, one firm - so many hotels don't do this). Enough and conveniently placed USB charging points. Great shower (waterfall as well as standard shower head). Nice to have the loo separate from bathroom. It was good to have access to my YouTube channel via the TV - I think this is the first time I've found this in a UK hotel. Effective aircon. Decor was stylish - not boring but not over the top either. A pleasant room to be in.
Breakfast was excellent and staff were able to cater for gluten free. Lovely restaurant area with large windows and plenty of daylight
I will stay here again. Will try hotel bar next time and maybe evening meal.
The hotel is conveniently placed for Tesco, if you need to grab a lunchbox for the day.
Nothing.
I forgot to mention a slight problem with both sink and bath in our room - the pop up waste plugs need fixing (it is an easy fix - the cables have probably snapped). But that isn't a criticism of the quality of the hotel.

Great, helpful staff.
Located close to local supermarket & metro.
Rooms don't feel cramped, lots more f space to move about.
All good.
