Wonderful Staff and location

The location is excellent, walking distance to everything. Right on the waterfront. 5 minutes walk to Te Papa Museum. Staff were wonderful. Welcome drinks on arrival, special homemade muffins for Matariki day. It is a small intimate hotel, but we liked that. The staff know who you are and are ready with a smile and personal greeting. Breakfast was included in our stay and was lovely.

The bathroom may not be to everyone's taste as it is a glass enclosure with a curtain that you can pull across for privacy. As you are on quite a busy road, it can get a little noisy, but we didn't notice that at night. Water in the shower ran cold a few times when using it but only for a few seconds. Just a suggestion - offer guests the option to reuse towels to help save water etc.

not unless you want a chemical infused, lightless, airless box

nothing. nothing at all. what i recalled as a charming and hospitable little hotel had turned into a nightmare.

my room with a view turned out to be a room without a window. i arrived after midnight. the room was so over deodorised over scented overpowering i thought i was going to pass out. i lasted five minutes. the staff... uncontactable. i left. stayed elsewhere. no contact from hotel the next day. the day after i got a message asking me to review my stay. i declined.

Lovely hotel, great location but need to get the basics right

Location was excellent. The room was lovely and roomy with a balcony, lovely bathroom and products.

I attention to detail. Record player not working, body wash needed to be replenished, they should have provided Nespresso capsules instead of a cheap version. There was no chef on- we weren’t told - so could not get breakfast.

I would highly recommend the Ohtel to anyone looking for a city break. The location is fabulous and yet not too busy. Lo

we loved the everything about the property. It is a small, boutique hotel with great thought put into the decor and ambiance. It was spotless, very comfortable and the rooms were very well equipped. The staff were lovely and the added bonus was a fabulous little coffee shop on site.

Lovely small hotel stay in Wellington - for a visit or staycation.

The suite is an excellent room, really big, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Lots of amenities and range of food drink in mini bar for not outrageous prices.

Busy street outside with a fair bit of rowdy foot traffic over the road. Not massively disturbing but still something that you notice. Would have been handy to have a few more items of crockery in room but you can probably get it from downstairs easily enough.

I would say, one of the best kept secrets in Wellington

Everything - superb location, large room and comfortable bed and pillows. I was worried about access (it is not a hotel) as we were arriving at midnight but it was easy to access, well lit and organised.

Wouldn’t Stay Again

Excellent location with a lovely view of the park & glimpses of Te Papa museum from room 4.

The shower was not draining so it was overflowing on to the bathroom floor. The bathroom sliding door on on side was off its railings so we could not shut it. There is no Sky even though it says they have 50+ satellite channels.

disappointing stay given price and quality of hotel, the noise is an issue for me and I would not stay again

Noise was the biggest issue, from the neighbouring party villa, the courtyard of which was right outside by window, and from the plumbing when next room used shower or flushed.

Impressed

Small hotel but very comfortable room, amazing bath, location is brilliant near great restaurants and nothing is too far away.

Shower pressure could have been a little stronger but I am being picky. Bathroom was all round excellent.

Great views from the front facing room.

WiFi was poor, breakfast timing not ideal for business trips......onsite cafe wasn't open, given a voucher for a nearby, but further out of town cafe. Next time wouldn't pay extra for breakfast but try in town cafes

We needed a comfortable room to sleep in after a function for the night. Studio room was very reasonable in price for a short overnight stay, no frills just the basics you would expect in a hotel.

Bed linen amazing, but both my partner and I had the worst sleep ever with hard bed. Bathroom sink had drainage problems.

Absolutely worth staying here.

Beautiful room, phenomenal tub, and comfortable bed. The view of Wellington was also superb as was the central location.

cleaning was a little inconsistent with timing and there was a random high pitched noise. but these were minimal concerns for the quality of the room.

Excellent.

Clean, spacious, modern, comfortable. Fabulous view over Te Papa and Port Nicholson. Hosts friendly and honest (corrected an error I'd made). Secure building and key card worked for late entry. Coffee and muffins in mini-restaurant below convenient to buy breakfast before leaving.

Elevator is small but maybe that's part of the charm. (There are stairs as well, and possibly a room or 2 on the ground floor).

Great hotel, breakfast times unsuitable for business travellers

Room was large, well equipped and very tidy. Bathroom very spacious.

Booked with breakfast inclusive but this was served only after 8 AM. No refund or packed meal offered. So I missed out. Don’t get me wrong: it’s a great little hotel but if you travel for business you want an earlier breakfast option.

The room was beautiful . The suite had an awesome view from the large windows. The bathroom was fantastic. The bed and pillows the best. Staff warm and welcoming. Lovely people. Nothing was 2 much trouble. Few mins walk to Courtney Place. The breakfast was great. Would stay here again.
