Lovely stay in a beautiful Hotel, will be back

Beautiful Hotel, lovely clean room, very comfortable bed, lovely staff, great location Loved the warm cookie on arrival and the 2 bottles of water, cheese and crackers and chocolate lovely surprise and greatly appreciated

The street noise at night and early morning but that is part of staying in middle of city and out of the Hotel control Breakfast was nice but for a vegetarian very little choice for hot dishes. Would be nice if there was other choices of milk, I did ask for oat milk for cereal and I got a small jug which was great, couldn’t get a nice coffee as coffee machine only had normal milk which was disappointing for someone who loves morning coffee, I had to go out to cafe for coffee. More preserved fruit also would be good, only had peaches

Nice comfy room

Nice big room, love the bathroom, friendly staff, yummy breakfast 😋 Close to shops and supermarket so it's convenient to buy some drinks and snacks for the kids. The cleaner came and cleaned our room, making it spotless.

Parking place. It's tricky to find the parking for the hotel.

Great location, clean and quiet. Parking great.

Rooms were quiet and pleasant. Seemed to be well cleaned. Parking was super easy (with gps) and convenient; location was brilliant including supermarket just over the road. cafe at entrance was very good for coffee and empanadas

Breakfast was really disappointing - strongly suggest going to a local cafe. Modest range - good if on the fly etc. but food quality seemed pretty average. Room coffee supply was minimal - expect at least a couple of pods to go with the Nespresso … Most of staff were great but lady on check in was a little all over the shot leaving customers waiting and ignored while she was fluffing around; mixing up names; and was somewhat abrupt to an elderly couple wanting some help with their luggage advising them they would have to sort it out themselves (words to that effect). Even if there wasn’t anyone to help - was pretty rude in her manner towards them. Disappointing to witness.

general expectations considering society/change etc, was ok

Not quite up to the standard of other Hiltons I/we have stayed at/in over several decades. However we do recognize that times (and NZ society) has changed. V/noisy neighbour(s) til late & some of the phrases/language was neither Hilton standard, not what a well bred girl may like to hear. Room layout could do with a little review, particularly with regard to more usefulness/practicability, re some of the smaller items. We would probably stay there again, as necessary, for it suited our needs.

Our stay at Doubletree was fabulous!!

Location was fantastic and room was so clean. Breakfast included was a bonus. Definitely recommend and would stay there again when next in Wellington.

One night stay is very impressive.

The location is excellent. The room height is impressive and makes us comfortable. The bed is good for comfortable sleeping.

It would be better if the twin-bed room could provide bigger size beds.

Noisy with poor service.

Comfortable beds

We were accommodated on the first floor and the street noise and neighbouring bar noise were terrible. We were given a room with a shower seat that wouldn’t fold away and a toilet that only reluctantly flushed. We told a staff member about the noise at check out and he was unconcerned and suggested we were “unlucky” with the bar over the road. He suggested we think about which room we book next time! We didn’t choose the room and we won’t be staying again. An inner city hotel should have decent sound proofing.

Really loved this hotel, the beds were beyond comfortable just perfect, I didn't want to leave

The cleanliness and presentation of Hilton by Double Tree is absolutely impeccable and I have very high standards.

That we were allocated an accessible room, the water just ends up flooding the entire bathroom and no towels to mop up. Extra set of towels in the cupboard would be nice. There was no Sky.

My stay was as always a very happy one with exceptional service by all

I stayed there last year three times. I have already stayed now once this year and will be returning in September. The staff from reception to the restaurant, to the housekeeping are all exceptional. The beds are very comfortable. The location is the best and I walk everywhere because of it being so central. Cable Car across the road.

the room did not have any view outside, bit smaller than we expected , I think beds need to replaced. Bathroom Shower was not very user friendly water spilling around. But the staff and the restaurant food was good, right in the City

Service was rude by Indian man at front desk

The service was rude I was told when I got there I had no reservations I had shown the Indian man my conformation and was told to go away and call bookings. Com after 45 minutes I then got a room the shower leaked over the whole floor to the point I had to put towels to cover the floor I will never stay there again

Great location, close to cable car, Te Papa and other sites. Clean, comfortable and helpful staff

Very good reception staff. The receptionist who checked us in was excellent, helping and advising on more than one occasion. Parking easy. Clean room, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast was good. Staff stood out as attentive and professional.

Would have liked to have been offered tea and coffee at breakfast table, as opposed to using a machine, which was not as good. However, food and wide selection at breakfast was very good and chef happy to cook poached eggs to order

Very good and central!

Well renovated hotel but preserves the features from the past, loved the lifts! Room was good and quiet. The menu of the restaurant was modern and the food was amazing! breakfast was great

The staff were extremely helpful.

We ate breakfast in the restaurant but unfortunately did not return as we did not enjoy breakfast on day one. The hot choices were Luke warm . Also the coffee was cold.

We spent two nights here while waiting to begin a cruise. It was the perfect location for our needs.

It was in a very convenient location with groceries, restaurants, and the cable car nearby. We were easily able to walk to the wharf area and to the football stadium. The room was comfortable other than issues with the HVAC that the staff worked diligently to correct. Having outlets on both sides of the bed was a huge plus for us since we both use CPAP machines to sleep. The bathroom was a great size with an excellent walk-in-shower.

We had issues with the air conditioning in our room but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The bed was a little firm for our taste.

Worse experience ever - avoid if you can.

The location

There was nothing great about the property itself. The rooms were very small and dingy. The beds were on wheels and kept moving. The corridors were smelly and the whole property just looked quite outdated.

Loved Wellington but only used the hotel as a base.

The room was very comfortable and the reception staff were welcoming and very helpful. The hotel was in the middle of town and well situated for all the local amenities and visitor attractions.

The bedroom was gloomy as the windows outside were filthy and overlooked by nearby offices. On arrival we ate at the hotel restaurant. The service was poor and we waited for over 45mins before getting our meal. My salmon was okay but not particularly tasty but my husband had rogan josh which he described as tasteless and in fact left half of it. We struggled to get the attention of the waiters. Parking was $35 a night and in a multi-storey car park that required a trip round the block from the hotel. It was quite a nerve wracking entrance and exit so once in we abandoned the car until departure.
