Spacious quiet bedroom. Good well thought out extras etc in room like toiletries and coffee.
Staff in hotel were extremely friendly and helpful.
Bed had a mattress topper which was very uncomfortable. The room had no air on and was quite stuffy even with a fan.
Main issue was with pool. I think this may be run by another leisure company (not sure) but it has members and hotel guests are an extra. The pool is not for swimming due to its odd shape. I was berated for not knowing to swim clockwise despite the signage about this being tiny and in colours that were hard to see and absolutely not obvious.
One lane for proper swimming may be an idea.
It was not pleasant to be told off for trying to actually swim in a pool when the many members swam all over the place as well. I brought this up at reception and the lady was very sympathetic and would speak to the leisure pool, but only use the pool here if you don’t particularly want to swim and just potter.

Location
There was no tea or coffee in the room - we had to try and request some. Unbelievably no direct way of contacting reception at all .. we had to Google the main national “village” website to find a number to ring to put us through to the Notts hotel. Then got no answer, then cut off and had to do it all again. Just to get tea and coffee in the room. No direct contact number provided for reception at all. Also no air conditioning just a very weak fan and unable to open the windows for fresh air. Very disappointing to be honest.
