Beautiful huge airy room with fabulous views (suite). Wonderful comfortable big (!) bed. Lovely bedding and pillows. Very good heating. Bathrobes and slippers. Lovely big fluffy towels, Complimentary water in the fridge. Excellent breakfast. Overall a very nice hotel, with lots of original character. Perfectly located for Aberdeen centre and the train / bus station. Excellent value.
No sockets by the bed. No air con (it would be very hot in Summer... only a plug-in fan) We were warm enough with the radiators on, but there was no additional bedding / pillows / blanket in the wardrobe. The TV was quite small and too far away from the sleeping area to be able to watch TV in bed. Tea and coffee had not been replenished on our arrival, and the coffee cups had been used. No 'welcome' information in room, or instructions how to use the coffee machine (we got there eventually, but slightly baffling). Poor security.... Anyone can access the room levels without a keycard (including the stairs and lifts) and reception was often left unattended, so anyone can walk in off the street, and access the accommodation. The emergency fire lighting in our room lit up the whole room at night which meant a less than perfect sleep.

The location is great can't fault that at all. The buffet cooked breakfast was tasty and plenty choice of other breakfast too. Bed was comfy.
room was quite small and the bathroom very narrow. Curtains in the room didn't cover all of the window. There wasn't any water available in the room. There was a fire alarm or some sort of alarm going off in the building outside of our window, it went on all night and didn't stop until approx 8am (not the hotels fault)
