Location and staff
Availability of lift is challenging sometimes

Great location, clean rooms, professional and very helpful staff. Walking distance to iconic sites: 0.4 miles to Trafalgar Square, 0.7 miles to Picadilly Circus, 1 mile away from the Eye just to give some ideas.
No mini fridge to cool water. Not as critical during fall but I can see how this might be needed during the summer.

Pleasant staff at all levels. Excellent porter care of luggage after checkout. Lovely touches of water bottle and chocolate which brings me back to stay again when I visit.
Nothing I didn't like but it would be nice, if rooms are available, to be upgraded. This happens at other hotels like The Henrietta.

Great location, good breakfast, efficient staff.
4 different rooms in 4 nights tells a story.
First room-shower tray overflowed flooding the bathroom, notified reception. Returned at 4pm to find no housekeeping and no maintenance. Had to insist on a room change.
Second room-nice and quiet but could not stand up in the shower, very limited for space, inferior class of room to our booking. Asked to change rooms.
Third room-very noisy, next to an equipment cupboard with generator noise 24/7, inferior class of room to original booking, so noisy despite asking for a quiet room!
Fourth room- after asking for manager to get involved, the brilliant Ammar upgraded us to a ‘queen suite’. Nice and quiet, spacious, I could stand in the shower and everything worked ok. Shame it took 4 attempts to get us a satisfactory room.
We would visit again but they need to check the room specs on their system to ensure details are accurate.
Also need better maintenance.
Poor value for money when compared to other hotels in London.

"I was visiting France from Australia but popped over to London for a week of theatre & the Strand Palace was within walking distance of most of the plays I booked."
