The room smelled stale and a little sweaty. The curtains were old and crumpled and did not close Pr

Fruit was still frozen, so was unappetising. Cooked breakfast was a little tired and unimaginative.

It was our Anniversary and what a brilliant place to spend it.

From the doorman till checkout the staff were all friendly and professional. The location was brilliant, the room clean, I wil definitely staying again

La ubicación es excelente, es la segunda vez que me hospedó en este hotel. Sin lugar a duda lo sigo eligiendo por su ubicación, aunque en relación con la visita anterior han dejado que las instalaciones se deterioren un poco, tuvimos que llamar a la recepción porque se fue la luz, tras la llamada, la volvieron a dar, pero ni explicaciones ni disculpas.

Es una pena, que haya empeorado tanto la atención y el mantenimiento del hotel, porque para mí es uno de los mejor ubicados.

Dusty room, dangerous equipment in breakfast room, uncommunicative staff & odd whiff in hallways

The location is superb.

The hotel has an unpleasant & quite cloying background smell in communal areas. The lifts took ages to arrive and were often packed once they got to the second floor where we were. The bathroom was dirty & dusty There were some ancient macaroons left out for us which were stale. The promised chocolates never appeared despite reminders. The complimentary tea/coffee biscuits were not replenished despite constant requests There was no written information in the room. No instructions re: how to place room service orders. We were told we needed to use the TV. The TV did not work. We realised the aerial had been removed. Staff then told us they could get a printed copy of the menu for room service and commented it was often difficult to get a connection (!) The telephone had been disconnected. I realised why later on at night because the light up button was so bright. I guess a previous guest pulled out the connection to turn it off! The minibar was not stocked other than packet of popcorn, can of Coke & a bottle of water. There were no instructions so it was not clear if these were 'free'. I assume stuff in a mini-bar costs something... Breakfast required queueing for 15+ mins & being given a number - it was beginning to feel like a motorway service station at this point. There was a dirty plate on the plate stack on the second morning. The first morning, there was a queue for hot food. When it got to our turn to take a plate, we saw the person infront struggle to get a plate out of the container. When we tried to get a plate out we both burned ourselves. There is a warning about the plates being hot but the problem here was the plates were not rising up away from the scalding hot heating element. I called for a member of staff who just grabbed a pile of plates & stuck them on the stack. No comment, no apology, no words at all.

Nice, beautiful, unexpected service, going back to forgotten services...

The telephone was not working when we got there. This was very important to my wife for we were traveling with her lonesome sister and she needed to have communication with her most of the time. After visiting London for a day, the phone was not working as promised. When we let front desk know they promptly moved us to a room with a working phone.

No complaints here...

Die Klimaanlage wird als einzige Quelle zum Heizen verwendet.. damit man die Heizung aktivieren kann muss man tatsächlich die Steuereinheit zerlegen.. sonst friert man.

Perfect stay in a great hotel.

Great location. Could walk to landmarks of London with ease. Near to a tube station and at the side of the Thames. Spacious room which was really comfortable. Had a brilliant night’s sleep. Excellent staff.

La posizione è stata fantastica, e la stanza era molto grande.

Colazione abbastanza scadente e stanza non in linea con il prezzo. Mi sarei aspettato un livello più alto per la prezzo pagato. Il soffitto era macchiato, la cassa della TV era in Bagno (?). Abbiamo trovato la stanza completamente fredda.

Great location but the once-grand hotel is now neglected

The very central location near Embarkment tube station and the very friendly staff :-)

The room was tiny, even tough we upgraded to a Deluxe King Room. It smelled musty and the whole hotel looked neglected. The carpets and furniture everywhere were tired and dirty. The carpet edges in the hallways has so much dust, like they hadn't been vacuumed in years. The wardrobe in our room was the size of a broom cupboard. Every time we were out and the cleaners came to our room, they would turn off the aircon, which means that the room smelled really musty when we came back. It is a pity about the neglect, because this is a grand property in a fantastic location.

A perfect stay for business and pleasure

You really can't beat the location of this hotel. Close to Waterloo and also to Embankment - which can get you anywhere. The front desk were very welcoming and allowed me an early check- in which was highly appreciated.

great location 5 mins to Trafalgar Square room a little dated and shabby but very clean, best to ask for river view which is splendid. very helpful and friendly staff

no separate shower poor placement of TV and mirror buffet breakfast extensive but quality of sausages and bacon could be improved serving staff again very friendly and helpful

Location

I booked a deluxe double as I have in the past as it’s spacious and usually as advertised has two large windows which is perfect as my husbands claustrophobic. This time we got out in an attic room three tiny windows. Not what we expected and were very underwhelmed. Not the stay had planned for our anniversary sadly. I feel this room should have been sold as a king room not deluxe.

London stay with highs and lows.

The location of this hotel is great for visiting Cabinet war rooms, Horseguards Parade, Trafalgar Square and Theatres. The restaurant staff and food quality is extremely good. The bed was very comfortable and the elemis products in the bathroom were nice. There were complimentary items in the mini bar 2 bottles of water, 2 cans of coke and a bag of popcorn. The shower was good when we eventually managed to work out how to use it.

We didn t have any tea or milk in the room and it took 2.5 hrs and 3 requests before any arrived. The room was uncomfortably small, hot with no natural daylight. There was a window that was not openable and blacked out with lights behind it. Was it because we booked through booking.com?

Först anvisade rummet med dubbelsäng som var 130 cm! Kunde få byta upp sig. Bokningen omfattade rum med dubbelsäng. Måste säkerställa king size bed!

Stay for the location but accept the old fashioned nature of the hotel as part of its charm.

Great location, thats the hotel USP. Room was OK, bit old fashioned but does the job. I had no view as faced inwards. Breakfast was very good. Full English.

Gym was very small and hidden away, which was a disappointment. Bar could be much better.

Great hotel to explore the theatre district on foot and surrounding area with a view of the Thames

Lovely room with a King bed, bath and shower facilities. Room clean and spacious, nice and warm easy to use A/C with under floor heating in bathroom. Mini bar complimentary. Room serviced every day. Breakfast as much as you would like good choices. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast room was cold as I was seated under an A/C vent... sorted the following day.. Other than that nothing.
