Location is great, view was excellent. Hotel itself was beautiful and very nice, it was clean and staff was accommodating.
Most of issues had nothing to do with hotel except parking and AC issue. Rental car parking is a real challenge, but we had no choice given the sites we were seeing in the UK. Lesson learned, avoid London if renting car. There is no valet or place to park that is nearby. I strongly suggest you use public transportation going into London as the closest parking lot is a 15-20 min walk from hotel. Or select a different hotel outside of city center or where they offer parking. Be alert to congestion ticketing system in London, I got hit with multiple fines (over $400 for a single day in London, lesson learned)…. Lastly, the AC unit in our room was not functioning, so it made for a very hot evening. The hotel gave us a fan for the room and did discount the room the next day only after we asked, which is a disappointment in that we had to complain and ask. The days in August in the UK were very hot, and on our trip we experienced multiple AC failures at different hotels, restaurants, etc. I would not recommend traveling to London or the UK now in the summer, especially when it is hot and if climate is changing and the UK becoming a desert. Way too uncomfortable or enjoyable. Some restaurants were only open for breakfast because their AC wasn’t working to provide for lunch or dinner. Hotel was too far to walk to Tower of London, we choose this due to vicinity to where queens horses only to discover they were not operating, likely due to excessive heat wave.

The location is exceptional and was one of the highlights of our stay. The Royal Horseguards is a beautiful, historic property and extremely well positioned for exploring London. Our room was also very quiet and generally comfortable, and our interactions with staff were pleasant. I had particularly looked forward to staying here because of the history and character of the hotel.
Unfortunately, the condition and maintenance of our room did not meet the standard we expected, particularly given the price of our three-night stay. The carpet was stained, the minibar/fridge was not working and leaking and eventually had to be replaced, and we experienced problems with the lighting, including a standing lamp that flashed. The lighting controls were also unnecessarily difficult to operate, with no clear instructions provided.
We also had problems with the television/internet. We reported this at around 2:10 pm, but nobody attended before we needed to leave the hotel. After following up later, the problem was eventually resolved by resetting the television. Individually these may seem like relatively minor issues, but collectively they resulted in us spending too much of a short three-night stay reporting and dealing with maintenance problems.
At this price point, we expected the room to have been properly checked and maintained before our arrival. The location and character of the hotel are wonderful, but unfortunately the overall experience did not represent good value for us.
