The bed was comfortable, the views to the green area behind the hotel were nice.

The building inside and the room are very old, the carpet is stained, the doors and furniture are also old and half-broken. The bathroom needs a complete renovation and it does not look like the pictures posted on Booking. Overall I paid a lot for a very old room that didn't look even close to what's on Booking, I also tried to change room which wasn't possible and offered to pay more and change to a better room which wasn't possible as well. The breakfast is pretty bad with almost no healthy options and all the plates, cups, glasses and cutlery were dirty, so you had to really search for a while between the plates in order to find something less dirty and be able to eat. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anybody.

The gym was horribly cramped with heavy equipment unsafely sticking upside down as if someone was playing dominoes. I was told on the day that there wasn’t any double rooms available and I would have to pay extra, when i asked how much it would be to just cancel the room and look elsewhere I was told I couldn’t? I felt pressured into paying more to upgrade. Brown stain on the wall next to bed on the left side and the room had unsafe smashed/cracked window, which when attempting to open just fall forward on to you, which is probably how it broke previously. curtains were also dirty too all which I had to pay extra for with an executive suite. Had the breakfast once which was mostly greasy food and was very bland and didn’t have many no pork options

I liked the Bangaladeshi staff, especially Shahin and Munira. Very nice people. The tv was good, big screen and operable. I liked the double scotch I got in the bar, it was Glenmorangie. No ice!

Breakfast was okay, it had the basics. I didn't like the fact that I was told to be charged a higher price for breakfast because I failed to order it in advance. Firstly, I frankly thought that breakfast was included, and that was clearly not the case. Booking.com should made it more apparent when breakfast is or isn't included. Otherwise, you are less than honest brokers. When told to pay a higher price for breakfast for failing to book it in advance, I stomped out of the hotel and got a much nicer breakfast in Costorphine, ten minutes walk from the Hotel. So keep that in mind!!! The hallway was depressingly dark and seemed to need refurbishment of carpets. It is a general problem in the hotel. The water in the tub took a while to heat, probably due to ineffective heating system all over the hotel. The ventilation system in the room woke me op several times. it hums like a propeller airplane quite often and it is unpredictable for how long. It is nerve shattering trying to sleep under such conditions. That said, I actually slept through the noise most nights. The tv was good, big screen and operable.

The restaurant staffs esp, FIOR were really nice & made us feel important & comfortable. You will feel their willingness & passion. Very satisfactory.

The reception were not welcoming & not approachable. The name of the hotel is well known , we expected high quality of service.

Great location

Great location next door to Edinburgh Zoo. Buses leave every few minutes from outside the front of the hotel which take you to the city centre in about 15 minutes. Very good breakfast, lots of choice.

Our room was very small and the window did not close properly. The hotel upgraded us without charge which was great. The rooms are beginning to look a bit tired but the public areas are nice.

Staff were exceptional. All very welcoming and helpful.

The room was spacious, clean and had great views, The staff were great, professional and attentive. Everything was explained and the individual checking me in was very patient.

The charging station did not work, I call the charging station support line but they were unable to assist. Although a cooked breakfast was included it was cold

I didn’t like the last hours that I spent because one of the staffs forgot to gave us the access when we extended our staying for 2hrs. My room number is 477

El check in fue bastante fácil, la habitación era muy cómoda y amplia. La limpieza fue excepcional, el desayuno era muy bueno, tenía todo tipo de opciones y variedad todos los días. Fior fue muy amable también, así como todo el staff en general. La ubicación muy buena, en frente pasan buses que te llevan en 20 minutos al centro o al aeropuerto. Al aeropuerto hay un bus que pasa 24/7 Volvería sin pensarlo 2 veces.

Al llegar debes subir una pequeña colina y unas escaleras por dentro y por fuera del hotel, lo cual claramente es muy incomodo si llevas maletas grandes. Hay otra opción que es seguir el camino de los carros, que también es una subida y es un camino mucho más largo, lo cual tampoco es nada bueno si tienes maletas pesadas, esta opción no tiene escaleras y te lleva directo al lobby y a la zona donde si hay ascensores. Por este aspecto no lo recomiendo si vas con muchas maletas o con adultos mayores o que tengan alguna limitación de movilidad.

Location was excellent, room clean and was as requested a twin. Staff were helpful and the receptionist wrote her name down so we could seek her assistance if required

My partner found the low lighting a little difficult as he couldn't angle the bedside light and when sat on bed he kept hitting it with his head.

The rooms were spacious and warm. The heating was easy to change and the windows opened well to allow air to circulate. The bed was comfortable and there was a good amount of storage. We asked for a fridge in the room for the baby's food and they were happy to accommodate.

The room and bathroom were not clean. We found things on the floor throughout our stay (such as thread, sequins, coins and crumbs) and it was clear that the room was not being hoovered at all. We had a baby crawling around the room and were very concerned that he might pick something up and eat it. The hallway was in a much worse condition and was not nice when walking the hallways back to our room. The bathroom was also not being cleaned as some hairs which were left after a shower were still there when we returned. We asked for the bedding to be changed for both rooms (we had two rooms on the booking) yet this was not done. The hotel provided a travel cot but did not include a mattress so the baby was unable to sleep in the cot and had to sleep on the bed with us - which gave us all a very disturbed sleep for several nights.

Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Super handy after a day at the zoo. A good breakfast and friendly staff.

Our room did not get internet connection so we went to the main social area. The hotel has free parking for guests and it would have been good to know to park there instead of paying for parking in the zoo's area.

Receptionist is kind, breakfast is nice,we can use a swimming pool. location is nice. just 10 seconds to get the bus stop and get Waverley Station 15min. I didn’t go to zoo but it is just 10 seconds away.

I couldn’t use the shower because the lever was missing.

The staff were lovely. Nathan checked us in and he was so helpful. We used the dining area at night and at breakfast. It's a beautiful area, very relaxed and the staff were attentive. Excellent choice of foods for breakfast! It was peaceful at night. We had the window open and didn't hear much noise from outside. We used the pool which my daughter really enjoyed.
