The Castle is a beautiful old hotel well maintained and clean with lovely period pieces. The staff are super friendly. The breakfast was really tasty and filling. This was our third visit and it didn’t disappoint. We had free parking which is a plus
The shower in our room needs a little attention. It does work but fails to stay up so you can get under it. The mattress was comfortable but it was a sprung mattress and I’m used to hybrid memory foam so found it a little uncomfortable but only when I slept in my right side, this is because I have arthritis in my hip otherwise I slept well. My wife on the other hand didn’t mind it and slept well. One other thing while there the hotel had put on a Halloween party for local children and our room was directly above the function room. It was a little noisy so we went down to the bar for a tea instead of in the room. It wasn’t a huge problem as it was over by 7

The property was central and an added bonus was the car park.
The only thing I would say was that we couldn’t find the room (31) as no sign on the fire door.
