We loved staying in our cave room (number 4)that had amazing views of ancient Matera. We also enjoyed being served apertivos on the couches outside our room with the old city as our backdrop. The staff was very kind and helpful and breakfast had lots of choices. The restaurant recommended to us was excellent and the great location meant that we were able to walk to all parts of the old town. We highly enjoyed the time we spent in Matera!
The transfer to and from the hotel from the recommended parking garage were very convenient, but expensive, 40 euros for 1 night!

We had a very good stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, right in the centre of the Sassi, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Our room, Room 2, had a fantastic view of the Sassi, and we also had access to the terrace, which was a lovely bonus. The air conditioning worked very well, which was much appreciated.
Breakfast offered a good choice of continental options and was a great way to start the day.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel. Our only slight criticism is that we felt it was a little overpriced for what was offered.
