The property is located in the heart of the Sassi .......a restored family home. Privately run by Valeria who is hands on and running the business with great efficiency and friendliness. We stayed in Room 104 which was lovely and bright and airy. Super breakfast provided.......boiled egg, fresh fruit, bakery made focaccia.....best of the holiday.
NB:- Husband Nicolo is head chef at his own restaurant in Matera....... www.ristorantesanfrancesco.it........I can honestly say it was the best meal that we got on our 10 journey through Puglia......it's clear from Nicolo's experienced working in Brussels, Paris, Milan in Michelin * restaurants comes through with passion in his cooking. It's Michelin cooking at regular prices......this is not your standard "tourist" food being peddled out.......you will not be disappointed if you stay at AI Maestri and dine at Ristorante San Francesco
Nothing.....all great

Beautifully designed, clean and comfortable accommodations right where you want to be for a visit to Matera, which is a captivating place. Owner/manager was very helpful with offering recommendations including parking with shuttle (we had a rental car) and restaurants. She also made a delicious breakfast!

Wonderful room in the cave. The owner has invested heavily in designing and creating a unique and wonderful space. You will particularly like the clothes pin lights which were custom-made. Air-conditioning was a plus and centrally sited in the Sassi. The owner was very helpful and friendly and took time to teach us a bit about the area and show us around the property. Two thumbs up

Our breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. It was served outside on the terrace by our lovely host who was welcoming and helpful.
