Breakfat and dinner is increadible, the quality of linen in the room and general set up is fantastic
We had to fight to get the dinner reservations in the hotel we stayed at. Apparently, there was some private function and part of the restaurant was reserved for it. After we got the table, the service and the food were fantastic so if you want to eat in the hotel, make sure to book in advance

A truly unique property in an extraordinary location. The staff was warm and welcoming, breakfast was very good, and staying in an authentic cave was a fascinating experience that we are glad we had.
For us, one night was more than enough, the cave was extremely humid and, despite the restoration, there appeared to be mold on some walls. Our biggest disappointment, however, was the €460 candlelight dinner: a magical setting, but the food and wine were nowhere near the standard or price, the music stopped after about 80 minutes, and after nearly three hours of waiting we left before dessert. I would strongly recommend experiencing the hotel, but dining elsewhere.

Totally unique experience! Caves converted into hotel rooms. Incredible work was done to preserve the authentic Matera caves. The room, overall hotel facilities, staff were all excellent.

It was really cool being in the cave as an experience. The staff were really nice and it’s an excellent restoration project.
As to be expected with a cave, it is quite dark and damp in the rooms. But it is an experience. The biggest issue for me was the value for money. It’s cool to be able to say that we stayed in a cave, but I wouldn’t recommend it to others just because I think it is too expensive for what it is.
