Staff were excellent - friendly and attentive. Comfortable en suite room with plenty of teas, coffees, biscuits etc. Location was great for us travelling on further north as it is very close to the M6. Lovely breakfast and was grateful that staff had thought to reserve us a table for dinner - tasty food.
There was a slight gap by our window so the room was quite cold on arrival but soon warmed up. The window opened onto the back of the kitchen so there was quite an unpleasant cooking smell - I imagine this wouldn't be nice in summer if you wanted the window open. A general cooking smell lingered in the corridor. Booking.com rates the property as 5* which is certainly a stretch, but the property's own website gives it a 4* rating which is fair.
