This was a last minute accommodation as the one we had originally booked let us down. We chose the master suite, The room and balcony was spacious, the view was stunning and probably the best in Mahahual-It was cleaned and smelt fresh every day. The shower was fabulous. We did not use aircon, the fans were silent and perfect. Lighting was good and calming. Plenty of wardrobe space. Help your self water in lobby. Out of the main drag of cruise tourists, so much quieter area but in 5 min walk. We wish we had booked this accommodation for all of our holiday not just 4 nights as was perfect for us.
Firstly telly..we didn’t use. Who needs telly on holiday, when you have stunning views! We could not work out whether we could get coffee in morning or drinks at night or whether restaurant open for evening meals.. as most of stay the doors were closed with no menu outside. we tried to ask but the younger staff always seemed too busy socialising, or glued to their phones, and we felt a bit uncomfortable interrupting. we did ask a couple of questions to the young man but decided he may be high as response was not coherent. (Hubby does speak Spanish) it was strange that Somewhere pays staff to sit around most of day or night to entertain themselves, but I think this is more of the owners problem not ours. There was sea weed, unlike other hotels/restaurants. I like the smell of sea weed, so not a problem.
Friday, there was an older smiley lady present , who gave a more welcoming feeling to the hotel and the place looked like it had come alive. It was open for breakfast(we had already ordered elsewhere so did not try) We weren’t really worried about drink or food once we found we could get a couple of bottle s of wine from up the road, fabulous coffee from street hut to right..open 7am to 10pm. Lovely breakfast on sea weed free beech to the left and Italian restaurant for evening meal was amazing.
