Location, food in bar was good.After service dealing with our concerns from the property was excellent including a generous discount .
Inaccessible from railway station without prior notice . A taxi is the only way if you come by train . A very steep staircase in the hill behind the hotel was the only way to the hotel on foot not suitable with a suitcase of any size . Nowhere to put suitcase had to leave it on the floor of the room Broken toilet seat.

Queensferry is a lovely little town just outside Edinburgh, and we chose to stay here for our final night before flying home. One of the advantages of The Hawes Inn was the parking provided for guests, which was very convenient as we were travelling by rental car. We also took the train into Edinburgh for our last evening, and the journey only takes around 15 minutes.
The breakfast area had a pleasant atmosphere and offered lovely views of the three bridges. We would also like to give special mention to the older lady working at breakfast, who was exceptionally sweet, welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, she was the only member of staff who made us feel genuinely welcome during our stay.
Unfortunately, our overall experience was a great disappointment. When we were shown to our room, which was located in a separate building that required us to leave the main hotel to access it, I genuinely wondered whether we had arrived at the right place. The room looked nothing like the photographs presented on Booking.com.
The room was extremely worn and tired, and the bathroom was particularly unpleasant. Almost every surface and detail was covered in heavy rust, the shower hose was leaking, and the overall impression was far from clean and well-maintained. The rooms were also very poorly soundproofed, meaning we could clearly hear other guests, traffic and people passing by.
Considering the condition of the room and the overall experience, the price was simply far too high for what we received. The hotel promises a lot through its photographs and presentation, but unfortunately, our experience fell well short of those expectations.
We would happily return to Queensferry, as we really enjoyed the town, but we would definitely choose different accommodation next time. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend The Hawes Inn based on our experience.
