Wonderful calm oasis in Thao Dien

I love the location! The Riverside is a quiet oasis in District 2. The complex is where a lot of long term residents live so one doesn’t feel like it’s a hotel. You see lots of families and kids. I really love the beautiful tropical grounds surrounding the property and the big pool. It’s perfect to get your laps in after a long day running around the city. The restaurant is excellent and the people who work there are very nice. I especially enjoyed the setting alongside the Saigon river. Another little bonus is the water taxi and bus service to downtown, so you don’t need to spend as much in taxis. The Riverside also has free laundry machines if you don’t mind doing your own laundry!

The decor of the rooms is getting a bit dated. If I ran the place, I’d freshen them up and redecorate. That said, the beds are comfy and I slept very well. Note that the electrical outlets are possibly the British version. The Riverside provides adapters

Perfect for a relaxing stay

Quiet relaxing area of Saigon close to restaurants and cafes, with excellent leisure facilities on site, with free shuttle bus and boat to the centre of HCMC.

No service, no privacy

Near the river, some good restaurants are close

Staff were terrible. No cleaning was done as they insisted on coming at 8am and then when we ran out of toilet paper they refused to give us more. 1st floor balcony has 0 privacy. If you don't have kids this place is terrible.

a great place to stay for families

a superb stay and the perfect place to acclimatise when arriving in HCMC.The pool facilities were great for the kids and the apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed it so much we are returning when we come back to HCMC.

Very good

Excellent location for D2 and very scenic being right on the river. Great swimming pool and lovely grounds. Coastal Restaurant offered good food with a lovely view. The accommodation is comfortable and spacious but slightly dated.

Riverside offers great facilities for this part of HCMC. However, you are a 30 minute taxi ride from the city centre and 45 minutes from the airport.

Nice complex, good apartment, very nice surrounding area.

The overall setting o the complex is goo enough. It has all the things that one would need. Depending on the length of the stay, there is almost anything available, from football / basketball courts, to swimming pool and gym. The staff at the reception is helpful enough and immediately when you walk out of the complex, there is a nice variety of restaurants, shopping mall in 10 minutes walk. The apartment has almost anything you would need. Again, it also has to do with the length of your stay (I was there 1 night, so did not use most of them).

Unfortunately, there is a large building being built next to the complex, and there is some noise from it ( I know the staff can't do anything about it, but be aware during your booking). The apartment is kept clean, maintained, but it looks old. The furniture is coming to the end of its life, some of the AC units were making some strange sounds and the electrical sockets have a different lay-out (I think type G). Because of the grounding pin also acts like a safety, if you want to plug in a phone charger (example C type), you either need a travel adapter, of some creativity, to unblock the safety (I used a plastic pic I had on hand). They have one universal adapter in the apartment, but it does not work.

A lot of space better for longer stays. Facilities and ac need a refresh.

Great location, very roomy, got upgraded to a 2 bedroom

facility and rooms felt very dated. Related to this, the ac didn't work very well in the main living room.

Loved every minute.

The rooms were large with good air con. Bed very comfortable. We tended to use one of the many nearby restaurants for breakfast, would recommend Snap and R House, a dog rescue cafe! Lots of lovely places for dinner nearby. The complimentary boat trip to H.C.M. was great, though crossing the road when we got there was a big challenge. I had a full body massage on site which was very relaxing if a bit rough in places!

great stay and was more than impressed. would definitely stay again and recommend

the complex that our apartment was situated on was fantastic and felt very safe and inviting. our apartment was more than adequate for our needs with two bedrooms and two bathroom facilities. huge living area and separate kitchen to use if you wanted to cook. there is a laundry which you can use for free in an adjacent block. also a lovely pool situated by the river. we didn’t use the breakfast or spa facilities.

noisy air conditioning. also don’t forget to press the hot water switch if you want hot water. not much about outside of the complex though there is a shopping centre and busy town about 15-20 minutes walk away. lots of building work going on which was a bit noisy.

As a resident in the city, this is a nice place to get away for a few days without going far. Quiet location on the river. Apartments are spacious. Staff are all good. Restaurant is excellent.

relaxing stay once again, great facilities

lots of space with fantastic gardens, rooms although dated are very comfortable and the daily housekeeping kept it very clean. large pool next to the restaurant was super

television in the room had very poor reception and picture quality, really needs to be upgraded to a smart tv to allow access to Netflix etc

Amazing spot

Its such an amazing gem within saigon. Probably my favorite place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city without having to travel to far. Its a a minute drive to central thao dien where you can get every western luxury you need.

The apartments aren't necessarily the most modern, but it is by no means a deal breaker

Superb

Wonderful garden along the river. That's a little piece of Resort in the heart of the city. Safe, quiet, green, perfect for a chill out stay with children.

Rooms are starting to get a bit old (weak AC, curtain not slidding...) Bed is very basic. Renovation needed soon!
