The breakfest was delicioous and straightforward. They had few and good options. It is a bit distant from Tikal (about an hour by car) , but 20 minutes away from Flores, by car, which was also what I was looking for. The lake right in front of the property is beautiful, as well as the thick forest around it. The swimming pool is amazing! The staff also was always there for me. In one occasion, i couldn´t withdraw cash from the cash machines around the property and they helped me to solve the problem in all the ways they could.
I visited during an extremely hot and humid season, at the end of august. Therefore, I think the air-conditioning system was not fast enough to cool the whole internal space. The room was really big, so i guess they need a more powerful ac equipment.

We loved everything! The room first of all, the staff at the reception and at the restaurant, the pool surrounded by the jungle (do the suggested trails, beautiful!) and the location of Villa Maya, we are so happy we chose to stay here.

I travelled with my 2 girls (7 and 9) from the UK as part of a trip around South and Central America. The hotel was peaceful and full of nature, from the walks to the crocodile at breakfast. The staff were excellent. I had a job interview whilst at the hotel. They found me a quiet room near reception and made sure I was well set up. Then they surprised us with a packed breakfast when we left before breakfast opened the following morning without us asking

The breakfast was ok, The view was ok...
Bathroom didn't have a door. Your could see right into the shower when lying on the bed. Fine if you are intimate with the person sharing the room, but this was not our case. The room we got was nothing like the photos. In truth, everything was just average. I was expecting more; better service, better rooms, more comfortable beds, better pillows...
