Not quite the cruise described.

The staff were very friendly.

Our original cruise was cancelled with a few days notice. The cruise ship was very rundown considering it was quite new (and it was suppose to be more expensive than our planned cruise). The way the cruise ships operate is like a factory which wasn't very relaxing (a tannoy announcement in the room at 0630!). A lot of the activities described were very touristy and we couldn't do them fully due to low tide. There is very little to do in the evenings. We were very saddened too about the huge amount of pollution in ha long bay - litter, diesel and polystyrene balls cover the water. This of course isnt the cruises fault but we didn't see this written any where so please be aware.

The hospitality of the staff and the overall planning

The amount that we paid , i feel did not justify the overall experience. It's somewhat pricy . The bay is dirty with thermocol and dirt flowing in waters everywhere.

did not go to the area of halong bay we wanted to see

lovely spacious room staff very friendly

- we didn’t realise and this was our mistake this cruise does not go to Sung sot cave or beach area - the food was poor and in comparison to other cruises terrible

The staff was really nice and extremely helpful! Really great people!

Actually we thought we would be on another boot as the pictures at booking.com and the boot didn't match. However, the room was really spacious and beautiful with a nice veranda. The only problem was, the bed. When we arrived the sheets were dirty and we asked them to change it. Even though they changed it super quickly, the new sheets were also dirty (e.g. stains) and the pillow was old (below the sheets) as it was yellow. We decided to use a towel on top of the pillows to sleep there.

Nature and rooms beautiful but experience ruined by staff.

Our room and view were amazing.

The service provided was, honestly, very bad. The dinner service left a lot to be desired. It was very disorganized, and as a vegetarian, I was often left waiting (20 mns+) while my partner ate through multiple courses for all meals. And we needed to ask them multiple times to bring the same vegetarian course. They seemed to forget every time, and when they did being the vegetarian course, it was often luke warm. Very few amenities were available. They didn’t even offer water for the meal.

Not worth the high price tag

Bed was very comfortable and good pressure with lots of hot water in the shower. AC worked very well. Room was well decorated although scruffy and worn in parts(handles missing from furniture etc)

This cruise was incredibly expensive for what it was. The photos on booking.com are not accurate. The ship is much more dated in reality. A lot of scuffed walls and just general wear and tear. You have to pay high prices for drinks onboard especially cocktails. Nothing drinks wise is included apart from two small bottles of warm water in your cabin. Wouldn’t recommend this cruise at all for the price they charge.

Nice experience, worth the money we paid.

The boat itself was a bit dated in my opinion but the room was amazing, spacious and well designed. Food was ok nothing too amazing but with this price we didn't expect anything fancy. Drink was reasonably priced. Staff was attentive and helpful.

Great tour with friends!

The boat was nice and the staff was helpful, they will take care of everything you need. The most amazing thing was of course the magnificent Ha Long Bay and their excursions gave us a great experience. We would love to return one day to this magical part of the world.

Very enjoyable wonderful room and very comfortable bed!

Bed was the best ever! Room was clean and well kept. Great size very nice!!

It was very hard to not have coffee in the morning, we were told 2 days we had to wait for breakfast 2 hrs almost. That is not a normal situation when people have traveled from all over the world. We were up at 5am with jet lag and had no help with just coffee being made or available for us to make.

Rushed and not luxury :-(

The room we were given was lovely, the staff serving us were lovely!

When taking part in this cruise it quickly becomes apparent they are rushing you through so they can get back to port and pick up the next lot of guests. For the price paid, this isn’t really acceptable. - We couldn’t get a hot shower on this “luxury” cruise. When we spoke to the cruise manager they said wait until a less busy period, which we did - but the water never got hot. - Electricity was constantly going off. - The food for both course-meals unfortunately was always served cold (or very close to!). - The Kayaking activity only lasted 30mins and was very basic, no time to explore and were basically told to keep within a thin section close to a rusty pontoon they made us use. - They rushed us through the caving activity - Breakfast is served at 6AM so they can rush you back to port and pick up more customers - No drinks (not even water) are included in the price. The prices on board are over 3x what you will encounter back on land - The Terminal in the harbour this cruise operates from is on the far side of the harbour, a long walk if you are coming from the main side! The location on the map is wrong - Thinking we could trust them to not scam us, we asked the tour operator after our cruise if they could book us a taxi to the airport which they jumped at the chance to do… Little did we know the taxi would cost us over 800,000d - this is double what it should have cost.

Exceptional

Staff were so helpful throughout whole trip. The room was beautiful - lots of food and activities. I lost my hat afterwards and the staff located it with me and got it back to another hotel - they honestly went over and beyond!

Great staff, beautiful and clean boat with magical views

The staff are so sweet and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need. The boat is in new and clean condition, although you can hear the above floors creak (just wear ear plugs). The excursions include kayaking and a boat ride to some caves.

I was expecting Vietnamese food, but the food was catered to tourists and wasn't good. The coffee was good though.

Great time in Halong bay

Amazing journey with LaPinta cruise, stunning view, excellent service and food. The cruise looked a bit dated from the outside but the rooms are huge, clean and beautifully designed. We loved everything about it. Ms. Jennie overseen our booking and was super helpful and responsive. Big shout out to her and all the crew members.
