Location ideal for visiting Padua. Friendly welcome. Beautiful room. Fresh and delicious breakfast.
Nothing.

The air conditioning worked perfectly (rare for the very top floor) and the breakfast was great. The staff were very kind and welcoming.
The bathroom shower area needed a facelift. The area of town doesn’t seem to be the greatest, especially the walk to the train station, but the park nearby is nice.

The hostess is friendly enough. It's probably a nice building, but I didn't stay long. The building is conveniently located for the Scrovegni Chapel and not too long a walk to the other sites in the city.
Arriving by train after dark in Padua is not the nicest experience. There's a lot of groups of young guys hanging around the train station and it's very dimly lit. There's generally a lot of beggars throughout the city. The host leaves the property at 18:30, so if you are going to be later than that (which is 90% likely if you're using TrenItalia) you need a code to the building, which proved a bit arduous to get, to the point I was researching alternative places to stay when it finally arrived. Italians are obsessive about taking copies of your passport and it's really frustrating that they wait until the day you're in transit to demand you send them a copy, forcing you to use public wifi to try and send it, which feels extremely insecure. People in Padua, particularly at the Civic Museum and Scrovegni Chapel, were pretty unpleasant and unwelcoming. Overall, I won't be visiting Padua again and I think generally in Italy I'll stick to larger hotels in future. If you're considering visiting the Scrovegni Chapel I'd advise doing a day trip from Venice.
