Casa da Cascata was among the highlights of our trip to Azores, and I wish it was available for our entire journey. Its a gem we started missing as soon as we left !
This place felt like a home to come back to after every activity-loaded day, with deserved relaxing in the garden backyard.
The house has some history and went through renovation, hence felt comfortable with spacious and well-decorated rooms, large kitchen with all cooking tools available, great overall atmosphere, the entire place wrapped in a great design. Whilst the bathrooms were shared, they were always cleant, with all amenities provided.
Locationwise, its practical and welcoming : a small plaza in the front with bustling local activity in the early evening in front of the church, short walk to the seafront with lots of choices for evening dinner/drinks, never had any issue with parking as we were there.
Communication with the team was smooth and efficient all throughout, and got lots of extra tips for exploring parts of Sao Miguel.
On a next trip to Sao Miguel, Casa da Cascata is the first place we will check.
Since its a shared house, you need some flexibility about when to use the shared spaces (shower, meal cooking).
If the accommodation is at full capacity (~10 people), it may feel a bit tight in the kitchen.

Lokācija un naktsmītne bija lieliska, lai pavadītu skaistu nedēļu Azorās. Gaumīgs interjers, plašas telpas, viss nepieciešamais aprīkojums.
Slikta skaņas izolācija, bet pieņēmām to, jo sena māja. Kad galvenajā laukumā notika festivāls četru dienu garumā, bija grūti ar naktsmieru.

The place is so beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable, the common space was clean and well organized. Friendly staff.

The property is centrally located. The rooms are large. Everything appeared really clean. Staff were communicative and helpful.
The location is extremely noisy. There is a bar in the central square, right outside, that plays music all day (until 9/10pm at night). Had to move locations as it was simply too loud (which caused extra expense). Ask specifically for a room NOT at the front of the property before you confirm your booking. No aircon or fan. No lift and a lot of stairs - not accessible for anyone with mobility needs.
