Para quedarse a vivir

La amabilidad de Luciana por encima de todo. Habitación muy cuidada, muy limpia y vista preciosa de Matera. Buen desayuno.

If you want the perfect location, this is it.

Perfect location, perfect view, perfect host! This place was like from a fairytale. Our host really made a lot of effort to show us where to go and what to do. Definitely coming back and would recommend to everybody. :D

Wonderful

Luciana's B&B was exceptional. Everything in our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast every morning on the terrace was delicious and fresh. The location was perfect for seeing this amazing historical town. The view from our room was beautiful. Luciana was also very helpful with booking taxis and helping with a transport problem we had, her recommendations for where to dine were exceptional meals. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting amazing Matera

INCREDIBLE!

Lucianas kind and warm spirit is the epitome of the experience at II Sasso e la Seta. She is simply a beautiful human being who genuinely cares and loves people. Her home is beautiful, clean, well placed and this is a highly instagrammable sort of property. Thank you Luciana for being so awesome. We love and appreciate your care. Oh, the breakfast is a story on it own. Beautiful and delicious!

Amazing, you have to go there to this accomodation and to this amazing city, you will never regret!

Luciana was lovely, super helpful, very nice, friendly and so positive! Her husband was waiting for us and escorted us to the house. Delicious breakfast with a view of the beautiful city. The location could not be better...a few meters above our house, I proposed to my girlfriend near the church. She said yes! One of the most beautiful places in the world, we will definitely return to Luciana again, greetings and best wishes. Soňa and Matúš

Fantastic, hope to be back soon!

Luciana was superb in providing helpful instructions to get to the room, so it was easy to find. We have found the accomodation very clean and provided with everything, the children enjoyed very much sleeping on the mezzanine. The view from the balcony it is very nice at all times of the day. Noise wise it was very calm and peaceful. We also liked the breakfast that was prepared every morning, Luciana was also good at providing info for tours.

The fridge was a bit noisy in the room. Perhaps few more cups in the kitchenette would be good, as well as some instant coffee and cupboard milk shots. Bathroom - we don't smoke but we could not find any lighter or match sticks for the candles (not a disaster ehi!) Mezzanine steps: it was ok for our children (4 & 7) but please bear in mind it is steep and has no balusters so they need to be supervised at all times.

Amazing place

It was amazing stay in Il Sasso e la Seta. The room was beautifully decorated. Only an artistic soul could do that. A wonderful view from the terrace of the room. Luciana created an unforgettable atmosphere. Great breakfasts during which Luciana talked not only about Matera, but also about film and theater art. We will definitely be back there !! We highly recommend this lovely place. Yes , now we know the meaning of "dolce vita"

Luciana is a fantastic host: kind, super available, she makes everything she can to meet the needs of her guests with her big, genuine smile. Breakfast on her little terrace every morning was the perfect way to start the day, with delicious portions of local food, both sweet and savoury.

Perfectly in the heart of the Sassi

Absolutely everything! The location is perfect, just in the heart of the Sasso Caveoso (our favourite). It’s a very quiet area with an amazing view! Parking is only a few minute walk. Luciana was absolutely delightful, extremely helpful and so passionate about her hospitality! We would go back for sure!

Our stay was excellent! The apartment is central in the Sassi part of Matera, with a charming view on the whole city from the terrace. Everything you need is in the apt (A/C, small fridge, tea ...), and all highlights, shops and restaurants are close by. The hostess is wonderful. We got a warm welcom, plenty of help and suggestions, and the most delicious breakfast with home-made jams and local delicacies fresh from the bakery. Thank you Luciana!

Amaizng view of Matera

Everything was excellent. The view from the terrace takes the breath away! The breakfast was delicious and when the weather is ok you can eat on the terrace :) Luciana is amaizing person, very helfull. She will tell you where to go, where to eat, book the restaurant for you. The best B&B ever <3 Stay there, you will be very happy :)

One of the beat locations in the Sassi

A comfortable spacious appartement on the best location you could wish for. here you can have breakfast in the morning sun on the terrace with a stunning view on the Sassi. Very friendly and helpful host. Highly recommended.

Lovely room with view in the old part of Matera

The owner, Luciana was very helpful and served us the best homemade breakfast we have ever had in our many stays at hosted by owner properties. The location in the heart of the old Sassi section was fantastic. From our little balcony we could view much of the town and it was easy to explore Matera's many historic sites and the beautiful adjacent canyon.

Just a wonderful bed and breakfast. Everything Luciana did; she did with a smile, she has a very nice personality. just a real pleasure to be around. everything was clean, plenty of hot water, a stones throw from alot of wonderful restaurants. she will be glad to make you a reservation. And a wonderful Breakfast. Plus the view is outstanding. and last but not least , she makes a great cappuccino. Bellissimo!

Fantastic B&B in Matera

Our host Luciana was so lovely and helpful, and the B&B is gorgeous. Our room was large and spotlessly clean. The view from the little outdoor balcony is particularly spectacular. Breakfast was as good as the photos promised and we were very grateful to Luciana for taking extra trouble to accommodate our dietary requirements. We would stay here again without hesitation.
