Hut clean and comfortable :)
We had presumed breakfast would be up at the hotel and were slightly disappointed to discover it was a contintenal breakfast only (prepacked crossants, youghurts and cold meat and cheese pack, plus orange juice)
We also got the impression from the write up that we would be able to use the hotel lounge in the evening, we did ask but we were told this was not the case, this applied when you had a room as opposed to a 'cabin'.

We LOVE Melfort House and have stayed here whenever in the area. This was our third stay and it was fabulous, as always. The house is wonderful and the surrounding area is scenic and peaceful. The hosts are gracious and the breakfast is cooked to order and delicious! The property is delightfully remote and incredibly scenic. The "next-door" resort property, just a couple minutes "walk in the woods" away, has a nice restaurant for lunch or dinner.
A longer stay would have been great but, alas, the word is out about Melfort House!

Grand mansion, large rooms - only 3 so exclusive - wonderful lounge and dining room, great breakfast.

The location was beautiful
As an older couple, we found the beds too high and it was difficult to access the door to the property
