The food at the Clarendon was excellent
The evening meal menu was either restaurant or Pub grub
We chose the pub meal which was excellent.
Breakfast was cooked with high quality local produce
Our room was quite small but clean and comfortable . The pub had ample parking too It was ideal for our short stay

The homely feel, Freddie was very helpful
We enjoyed meeting the local people
and other guests for evening meals.
Meals where nice the Caesar salad was lovely
Location beautiful for long walks.
The room was not replenished or cleaned in 7 days including towels.
The bed and linens need to be replaced old and tired. The fan in the very small bathroom not working at all.
Could also do with some form of cooling air conditioner or ceiling fans.

We were welcomed and checked in swiftly. The staff made great efforts to advise us about local spots. The food was wholesome, tasty and big! The pate starter was equally tasty.
As an aside, if you can time your visit to be on a Sunday evening you can join a most informal and enjoyable pub quiz where the relaxed quiz meister sits at the bar ( having won last week s/he has to set this week's quiz) and reads out great questions and bats aside very good banter. It turned into a night we'll never remember. Great pub, great people.
Not a problem for us we were on a cycling trip,, the pub is a couple of miles from a village. The village is Grassington where much of the new version of All Creatures Great and Small is featured.
