The property is very centric which is the best thing you could do in Hanoi so you can wander around the old quarter. The staff is amazing, always eager to help and very friendly, loved the recommendation they gave us (thanks for the pho recommendation Hannah!)

The staff were all amazing and attentive, they helped with restaurant advice and tour bookings. Could not be more helpful. The beds and pillows were the most comfy of all compared to other hotels in vietnam that we have stayed in. The location is great right near the lake and old quarter. The breakfast was excellent.
Next time we will make sure we get a room with the street view as our window was at the back of the hotel facing a brick wall. Unfortunately our room had a shower over bath and the bath was not sealed to the wall wo water that sprayed from the shower ended up all over the floor making puddles.

The positives
- reception staff was lovely and always very kind and helpful. The low score is in no way a reflection of them but the hotel facilities - see negatives below
- breakfast was good
- location was excellent
The negatives
- overall the rooms were in a very poor condition; pictures advertised must have been taken decades ago. Bathroom wasn't clean and neither was the bedroom.
- no soundproofing, the rooms were very loud at night
- hotel charges 5% on top of the advertised price for a card payment. Common practice in Vietnam, but still they must advertise this during the booking.
- rooftop bar and breakfast are in a different building close by.
