Peaceful, relaxing, lovely place to stay

The gardens were absolutely beautiful! The colorful, lovely birds were always at the feeders right at our front door. The front porch was one of the most peaceful and relaxing places we encountered on our 12 day trip to Costa Rica! Señora Haydee and her son Kenneth were so warm, welcoming, and helpful. The location is in a little spot with gardens surrounding the property so you feel secluded even though you are within a short walk to a bakery/cafe, a couple restaurants, and a mini grocery. Señora Haydee offers a few different delicious breakfast options for you to choose from and cooks them each morning, served with absolutely amazing marmalade for toast! We found so much peace and relaxation in the rocking chairs in the front porch enjoying the birds and gardens each day. The room was big enough for our family of 4 to rest each day after adventures and was spacious enough for us to spread out. Everything was VERY clean. We would love to stay here again if we return to Monteverde! Thank you so much!

They have done a beautiful job on making the property inviting. The family is wonderful.

My son and I stayed at Casa de Haydee. We took a picture with Ms. Haydee and Kenneth at our departure because we loved them that much. Kenneth’s communication and care is above and beyond. Ms. Haydee is adorable and her breakfasts are amazing. The location is wonderful and walking distance to restaurants. We walked to the town shopping center but it would be difficult for those that have problems with inclines/declines and is about a mile.

I do not have any real concerns. The only improvement would be maybe to have some screens on the windows to improve airflow. At night we slept comfortably so it wasn’t a big issue.

the room is very nice, spatious, amenities in the room and the bathroom are of good quality. the family is friendly, helpful and easily reachable, they themselves live there and rent 1 apartment in their house. The house is cleans and cozy.

Location, it’s very close to the road and you can hear noise from passing by cars.

The room was large and very comfortable. It was a lovely stay with the family and we were very well looked after by Haydee.

Highly recommended, beautiful place!

The location is great as it’s a short walk to santa elena town and like a 10min ride to the start of the cloud forest. Also there are plenty of restaurants around and a supermarket. Haydee and her family are the sweetest and helped us with everything and provided many recommendations. Her pancakes are the best i’ve had so far! beautiful garden with lots of plants that Haydee can tell you all about. Nice to sit outside as well to watch the birds. Highly recommend staying here!!

Haydee is the sweetest host, there is a beautiful garden area to enjoy & a very comfortable room! Location is great, as were the recommendations we received. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend!

Kenneth and Carlos are very kind and helping out with any questions i had for the area and activities around Monteverde. you can actually take a walk from the place to Cari Cancha (or Monteverde Biological Reserve; although thats a bit further away) and get your free breakfast in the bakery on the way.

Our favorite place!

Really nice property. Large comfortable updated room. Convenient location. Pretty garden with lots of flowers and cacti. Loved sitting outside on the rocking chairs and watching the birds. Haydee was so sweet and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and she even did our laundry.

Superb

Good sized room with very comfortable beds, sofa, fridge, microwave. Very good breakfast which is served in the room. Great location - if you want to see a great sunset there are some benches a short walk (2 min) from Casa Haydee especially for this. There are 3 good restaurants just around the corner from CH. Selvetura Park is 10 minutes by car. Kenneth and his Mum Haydee are lovely. Haydee doesn’t speak English but we do so that was not a problem for us. Not an issue if you don’t however as Kenneth is on hand at all times, speaks perfect English (as do most Costa Ricans) and is very happy to help organise tours etc.

it was a perfect location, close to Curi Cancha, Finca San Luis, Hôtel Koora for sunsets, and several good restaurants. It is more than just a room, small dining area, full size fridge, microwave, sofa and TV, perfect for light meals at home.

Wonderful location, great personal touches, great host and amazing breakfast

Casa Haydee was the perfect place for or stay in Monteverde. The room is lovely and big and has all the facilities you need. Kenneth was exceptionally helpful and arranged a couple of trips for us as well as valuable information about the area and where to go. The breakfast was amazing and the personal touches really appreciated. It was a lovely base to explore Monteverde and so relaxing to come back to at the end of the day. Some nice restaurants close by too. A very peaceful & comfortable place to stay

Could do with 2 chairs outside the room for relaxing as it's a family room and only one chair which I made good use of :)

Best place in Costa Rica so far 😍

The accommodation was really great. It is very cozy and has everything you need. The highlights are: - Kenneth & his mom (who owns the place) are loving, kindhearted people, who will tend to all your needs (within reason ;-)) - Breakfast is served in your room and super delicious - Kenneth plans all your activities - It is super close to this great restaurant Thomas & Thiago: have Kenneth book you a table, then your first glass of wine is on the house - a small supermarket is within walking distance Kenneth was great because on the day of our arrival, he made us hot cocoa and that made us feel very welcome!

Between colibríes and flowers the perfect place to relax and to dream

Communication with host was perfect, he gave all the information about the place to enjoy it and explore it. The house is perfect, unique with wild birds and nature, in walking distance to the center and fine restaurants. Breakfast in the house and everything else is perfect, all your wishes will be fulfilled, all your questions answered very fast or by the landlady or his son, a professional tourist guide.

Kenneth and his mom are amazing people. Kenneth plans everything for you up to the smallest details and sends you all the details. He’s an amazing itinerary planner and is very personal. His mom is such a sweet person and makes amazing breakfasts, up to her own bread. Amazing experience!

Great place to stay. Walking distance to 4 restaurants and near the cloud forest. Haydee was a great host and I would highly recommend staying here. The breakfast was some of the best we Had while in costa rica.

Nice and friendly place. Kenneth is a great, friendly and supportive person-absolutely great job done on trips and things worth to do in the surrounding! Breakfast we got was absolutely AMAZiNG - all home made food (delicious home made bread 😍😍😍 and jams 😍😍😍). Lovely place to stay and enjoy beauty of Monteverde.
