The hotel had available 24hr cold water, tea, coffee, and those small delicious tropical bananas! The room was more than adequate. AC, fan, comfortable bed, and quiet evenings. The family that runs the hotel were so nice and ready to serve with a smile at a moment's notice. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in Valladolid. The location was perfect! A block and a half from the central plaza, in the middle of everything. Renting hotel rooms from a long distance away can be chancy. But El Negro is a sure bet!

This is a great place to stay. We had the cute room in the back decorated in the style of jaguars, with jaguar mutals and jaguar blankets. The room was clean. The swimming pool was very nice to swim in. They have two coffee areas, one downstairs and one upstairs, and also upstairs there is a kitchen area where you can cook a meal. The coffee is instant coffee, but there are some flavored versions. There's fruit available at the upstairs coffee area, too. It is just around the corner from the ADO bus station, and almost next door to a shop that rents bikes; the plaza grande is only a block away, so it's in a very good location. The owners are very accommodating and pleasant. They lock the front door at night, so it is very secure (you can still get inside if you knock on the door, of course).

Lovely people and great location.
We were in the family room. While spacious, the beds were not very comfortable and sheets were quite old and thin. The smell from the washroom was present in both rooms even with windows open and fans on. The building is very old and the rooms are old and very weathered.
