Booked a sea view room, (173) which didn't disappoint. The room we were allocated was huge with a bay window and super king size bed. There was plenty of storage space and a kettle and hospitality tray. We chose their 10% off in the bar offer so didn't have any housekeeping or towel change during our stay, but reception was more than happy to supply all the sundries which are usually replaced daily. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff were constantly topping up the buffet so everything was hot and didn't sit too long on the hotplates.
We couldn't think of anything we didn't like, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Headland Hotel and if was closer to where we live we would rebook another stay.

This felt like a step back into the 70's. It's a hotel that has stayed locked firmly into the old expectations of 'English seaside hotel' and not kept up with the where the rest of the hotel industry currently is. Broken lift, uneven floors, musty smelling rooms and shower with very low water pressure.
In addition, I am disabled and I had been informed the lift was broken before going. In emails, I was told there was a stair lift and that it was only two flights of 7 steps to my room. When I got there, the stair lift could only be activated by someone else and it was actually 26 steps and I had to be helped up and down the stairs by the staff (which they did very well). So much for independent living
