All the staff are so friendly and helpful we felt at home and welcome immediately. I was especially pleased that they agreed to do us a special early breakfast so we could catch the early train to Whitby. Amazing beer garden, simple but excellent food. Our room had a good shower, with good toiletries and hairdryer. The hotel wasn't immaculate like a premier Inn or chain hotel but more than made up for that with it's homely atmosphere.

Very friendly staff and cosy room. The breakfast included was what we needed in the morning.
There were crumbs on my pillow and there was a weird smell.
It would be good to have in the facilities that there is a dvd player.

The location was lovely, and the wake-up call from the local cockerals made our stay.
We went to stay at The Horseshoe Hotel for bed and breakfast. As we got stuck in a traffic jam, it took us hours to get there.
When we checked in about 3 p.m., the barman said they were no longer serving food. We explained that we'd eaten nothing since 7am, which was then 8 hours.
He said there was another hotel further down if we wanted food. There was no offer of a quick snack .Since we were paying guests, we expected more customer service to accommodate our needs.
There were no vegan options written on the evening menu, even though we let the hotel know well in advance that we were vegans. Disappointing.
We didn't stay for breakfast as we just wanted to get out of there.
The tv in the room just stood on a cabinet with the refreshment tray covering the screen. The room was too warm with no fan.
Would not go there again.
