The location is perfect. There is a short pleasant walk down to the most beautiful beach with good facilities. Staff are pleasant and friendly although the woman tending the bar was quite grumpy. Breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice.
When we arrived late in the evening we headed to the restaurant but the menu stated you must have two courses, starter and main for £34. You could not choose main and dessert or starter and dessert. This was too much for us and we would have like a light bites menu. We ended up going to a local pub instead.

The quality of the breakfast and dinner at the hotel is very good and there is a separate doggy dining seating area, which enables you to take your pet with you for your meals, instead of leaving them in the room. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel is very good, great for the beach, walking/hiking and for driving to different locations. There is also a lot of interesting bits and pieces in and around the hotel of historical interest.
Very long waits at reception, sometimes no one available at reception. The outdoor swimming pool was green and unusable, which we were not initially informed about when we paid for the use of the spa on a daily basis. It is hard to find anything in the hotel that isn't weary and in need of a refresh. If you approach it with a sense of humour and tolerance and go with the flow, you'll have a pleasant stay.

The bedroom was comfortable and cosy, with a lovely bed. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower. Had a go on the pitch and putt golf course. I wish I had brought my own clubs. It was good simple fun.
It would have been lovely if there were more vegan options and that food was clearly labelled with a vegan symbol or sign. I would like to be able to choose things without having to have an awkward conversation about what is and isn't vegan.
