Location: Super convenient location—just 3 min away from Nijo Market and the Tanukikoji Shopping Street.
Room amenity: We stayed in the Superior Double Room (one queen bed). Having an in-room microwave and washer was very convenient.
Obon Event: We visited during the Obon festival, and the hotel offered a complimentary event for guests to dress up in Yukata and attend the Bon Odori. The Yukata rentals, dressing, hair styling, and the after-party (including drinks) were all covered. Also as foreign guests, having dedicated guides who speaks our language was a fantastic touch.
Staff Highlights (Rei & Nissy): Rei and Nissy served as wonderful guides during the event. They walked to the festival with us, took photos, and taught us how to dance the Bon Odori. Rei was fluent in Chinese and helped bridge the language gap for us and other guests from Hong Kong. Nissy recommended Ikura Goten for dinner, where we had a fantastic meal. Getting to connect with the staff like this made the trip truly unique.
Staff Highlights (Yuka): Yuka at the front desk was extremely helpful with our transportation logistics. She first called our next hotel to check if they had a shuttle pick-up. When that wasn't possible, she helped us book a long-distance bus after our own attempts failed due to needing a Japanese phone number. She called on our behalf, secured our tickets to Lake Toya, and printed a map showing us the exact bus stop location.
Room Size: The room is on the smaller side. If you are traveling with large luggage, opening full-sized bags requires a bit of effort and rearranging the desk and chairs.
Transit with Heavy Luggage: Getting to the hotel from New Chitose Airport with big suitcases can be a bit of a struggle. The easiest route is taking the airport bus to the Minami 3-jo (Susukino) stop, which drops you off just a 5–8 minute walk from the hotel front door. Alternatively, taking the JR train to Sapporo Station requires transferring to the subway line to Odori Station and walking from Exit 34. If you have heavy bags, taking a taxi directly from Sapporo Station might be the better option.
