This was our 4th time staying at Bretton Cottage. Always a warm welcome, good breakfast and a lovely area for relaxing, taking in scenery or doing a bit of antique hunting in the local towns.

Breakfast was top quality! Cant fault what so ever. The bed was comfortable, good quality furniture. The bath was a nice bonus. The pub next door was amazing, best meal iv ever had. Nice walk into Eyam. Lovely views. Next time id bring my running gear, would be a decent run into eyam. Nice quiet road. Male host very attentive, welcoming.
The only negative thing i could say is, our first night when we arrived back to our room the female host was in the room, she seemed startled, she said she was checking the room temperature. When we went out the next day and arrived back the female host was in our room again and we saw her quickly run through the connecting room to the main cottage, the tv was on and the side table had been moved near to the sofa and we noticed it had crumbs on it so looked like she had been chilling in our room. She knocked on our main door and handed back our remote for the tv and said she was listening to the tv while doing the house keeping. There was nothing missing or mis placed. But did make me feel a little on edge.

Great view, peaceful
In mid June the cottage was cold and felt damp. No ability to turn radiator or towel rail on therefore cold shower room - therefore not welcoming. Poor quality / cooked English breakfast therefore passed on that 2nd day
