The room was wonderful, overlooking a pretty garden full of flowers. It was really quiet - I am very sensitive to noise so this was not an issue for sleeping. Good bed, and a small but perfect en-suite WC and shower. Very wide choice of breakfast, served with a smile. We were also pleased to be told that there is a pub in the village which was within easy walking distance - just what we needed after a long drive. We were served generous, high quality portions of food. In addition, the service in the Miners Arms was the best we have ever had in any pub.

Pleasant hosts
The bathroom was in the corridor, not within the room , the bed was a tight double bed, a small room and uncomfortable pillows and mattress. If I was aware of all this I would not have come. We were called by the hosts to see at what time we were arriving, as they may not be around. It didn't feel professional. Also, we ask the host lady about the things that we could do around Eyam, and she simply said "there are loads of things to do" and suggested to visit a hall and read the leaflets in the entrance. If the same lady is calling me to see when exactly I am arriving I would have expected more.
