The location was fantastic. It was a short 5 minute walk to the train and the bus. My other friend had to walk at least half an hour to get to the train, and sometimes had to wait an hour to get a bus. It’s a short walk to Queen Elizabeth’s Park and there is a great food court nearby that has high end food. My room was the perfect size and I had my own bathroom and was quiet (or at least the other house guests were quiet). I would stay here again.
I could have used one more blanket on the bed.

Mike is a warm, generous and delightful host. The facility is excellent. After a business life of endless hotel nights, my stay at Mike's was a greatly welcomed change. My room was very comfortable, and offered all I needed for my stay. I felt welcomed and enjoyed my chats with Mike. If I were to return to Vancouver I would stay again without hesitation. Thank you Mike.
The location is perfect. Great coffee and breakfast within 2 minutes walk, (you need to know that it's vegan) and a high quality food hall and the Skytrain into the downtown and the airport only a 10 minute walk away.
There was nothing not to like.

The basement suit was spacious.
1. I wanted to extend the check out time for a couple of hours because of the flight but Mr. Mike wanted to charge me extra money for it. In the email it says- if you want to extend the check out hours, please inform them a day earlier so that they can accommodate, but I guess it can only be accommodated after paying which to me was a surprise. I paid CAD 900 for 4 nights. Mr. Mike was explaining a lot about cleaning agents, timing for their arrival, etc, in the phone call but to me it didn't make any sense. I was hoping they would consider extending the check out hours if I inform them a day earlier but it's all about money.
2. The house is a bit dusty, I could see the dirt/dust stick under my socks. Mr. Mike talks about cleaning agents but I guess the agent doesn't clean it properly.
3. In the picture the house looks good and attractive but in real it's broken and old. Front and back yard over grown of plants and weeds. Looks like they haven't maintained for 6 months plus.
4. The main entrance door knob is broken.
