This is the fourth time I've stayed at The Lastage Inn, and if given a choice I will not stay anywhere else in Amsterdam. The location is perfect, easy walk to anything you could want (for example 30 minutes to the museums, the Anne Frank House or the zoo) and also only a block or so from a metro station. The owner is the most charming and attentive host. And the breakfasts are things dreams are made of!

The breakfast here is sterling quality (fresh fruit and yoghurt, sourdough toast with salmon/bagel, and a warm croissant too if you’re lucky), and the inn was incredibly welcoming throughout which made our stay very enjoyable. The neighborhood is central which makes travelling easier (we did everything by foot) and the bed was also very comfy to let us recover after a long day. I personally appreciated the high quality facilities, even things like Aesop products (lush smell), Dyson hair dryer, good bedding, and the lovely room scent - it just makes your holiday that much more pleasant. I travelled with my mother and she also had an excellent experience here. I would come back here!
For our room, there was a bath where you can shower too; this was fine for us, but it might be difficult for some people.
The place has a communal kitchen for you to hang out in but it’s probably fair to say that the place is best for people who are wanting to visit the city and be out most of (or a lot of) the day - which I assume is most people!

Ci ha offerto dei dolcetti di benvenuto che ci ha fatto trovare in stanza per due volte durante il soggiorno. Le sue attenzioni fanno certamente la differenza.
La camera è poco insonorizzata ma la struttura è piccola (consta soltanto di due stanze) pertanto risulta silenziosa.

I could start by stating the great location, the « smallness » of the Inn (2 rooms only) or the comfort of the bed. But what struck us was Matt’s hospitality, his attention o details that all count and the great conversations around a tasty breakfast. It made us feel at home and really on holiday.
The location was also a hit as we could explore basically everything on foot.
The seagulls temporarily nesting just above made sure to remind us that the sea is never far. Mind you, it made us make most of the day instead of pushing our lazy morning too late.

Matt, the owner was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. He gave us information on good restaurants in the area, the best place to hire bicycles and which company to go on a canal cruise with. We will definitely remember our stay here - so much better than the national/international hotels.
Because we were centre of town (which was great) there was some noise in the late evenings/early mornings.

I'm so glad I found this gem! Centrally located minutes from the subway and everything you need. You will not find a more accommodating host who has thought of every detail before and after your arrival. Highly recommend.
A little noisy at night with windows open but, you are in the middle of the city so the location is the trade off.

The property was well located…walking distance to all points of interest. Accommodations were quite comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Matt was an amazing host!

The location is exceptional, you’re so close to it all, the room was really spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was always excellent and a wonderful start to the day, meeting other travellers, feels like home.
The room we were in did get a little hot at times during the night but we were also a little sick and we didn’t find it too much of an issue

Myself and my wife stayed here for three nights (our first visit to Amsterdam) and we absolutely loved it. The inn is beautiful, absolutely spotless, and in a fantastic location. We can’t praise Matt enough - he is a fantastic, engaging and funny host and we loved having chats with him over breakfast (which was absolutely delicious every day!) and nothing was ever any trouble.
The rooms are also immaculate with lots of very nice, high-end touches.
We will absolutely be back!

We always try to stay at owner operated B&Bs and I can honestly say the The Lastage inn will not disappoint. Great service, great accommodations, great breakfast. great conversation. Everything was amazing! Location was great ~ (we walked most everywhere) breakfast was absolutely 5 star amazing ~ the host was the best we’ve ever had! Most accommodating gentleman for our family (always asking if we need anything and refused to let us carry our bags upstairs). We’ve traveled the world and this gem of a place was our favorite thus far!!! My teenage daughters, my husband and I agreed if we could pick this place up and transport it (with Matt) to all of our future destinations we would! Just a lovely experience with a host passionate about hospitality. We miss it already but will surely be back again soon! 😊

The Lastage Inn is well located, with museums, restaurants, bars, attractions all within easy walking distance. The owner, Matt, was friendly and welcoming. He really looked after us and the room, facilities and breakfast were excellent. We would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.
We had everything we needed so can't think of anything that we didn't like. The restaurants were busy so I think it's a good idea to book in advance. Matt was helpful sharing his local knowledge and providing directions.

Matt and his nice little B&B made our stay in Amsterdam even more perfect - and it was an important one! We enjoyed his empathy and joy celebrating with us - even with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco! No words for the very nice and tasty breakfast - thank you, Matt - we remember your words and will be back!
There was no second coffee on day two - but hey, who cares? English breakfast tea while chatting with Brits? Yay!

This tiny B&B in a Central Amsterdam townhouse was an excellent choice for our short city break. Great breakfast cooked by friendly host, Matt while we chatted with him and two other guests. Beautiful, comfortable room with ensuite; an iPad instead of tv; fridge with a few complimentary drinks. Perfect! We arrived early and left our bags while we went for a walk. Late flight home, so Matt also looked after the bags until it was time to go to the airport. In short a little gem.
Well, I'm stretching here, but if you struggle with stairs you may want to find somewhere with a lift. But that's Amsterdam for you.The Inn is located down small streets so there is a 10 minute walk to the nearest public transport- a bit less if you're not in your 70s with dodgy knees.
