This is a small old villa almost in the very center of the city. The style of the building is simple, cute and even a little bit homey. There is a bus stop nearby, several shops and supermarkets, a pizzeria in the same building, and a sushi bar just across the street. At the same time, the streets are quiet and peaceful in the evening. Compared to staying right in the city center, this has many advantages.
The check-in was also very easy and convenient. All the information is sent in advance, and you can enter with a code and come and go at any time. I really liked this because I didn't have to adjust my plans to anyone, wait for someone or worry about what time I would arrive. For me, this is a very convenient option. There is a big garden in the courtyard with lots of greenery, swings, chairs and tables. My room was for 8 people. The bed was a solid metal bunk bed, and I had the top one. The mattress was thick, good and comfortable. Fresh bed linen was already on the bed, and there was also a towel waiting for me. Next to the bed there was a small shelf, a lamp and a power socket. Everyone has a strong metal locker with a key. All my things fit in easily and there was still plenty of space left. I was lucky with my roommates too — everyone was very nice and there were absolutely no problems, even though I was the only woman in the room. The kitchen has everything you need and even more: coffee, tea, sugar, different kinds of dishes, a kettle, microwave, fridge, electric stove, air fryer and coffee machine. For 20 PLN you can also do your laundry. There were no problems with hot water, and I never had to wait for the toilet.
There is also an iron and ironing board, although I didn't use them. Overall, I am absolutely satisfied and I can confidently recommend this hostel to everyone. For this price, it is simply great!

I stayed at Willa Retro because I wanted something cheap in the center, walking distance to the Planty and Old Town. That’s exactly what I got.
Location is the best part — you can do Kraków on foot or by tram and not waste money on transport. The room is a normal hostel room, not a boutique hotel, but the bed was fine and I could work on a laptop without a problem. Kitchen is fully usable (fridge, microwave, hob, everything you need) and the bathroom under the roof is clean and practical.
Staff sorted things out when I asked. It’s a budget hostel, so you get what you pay for — and for this price that’s a fair deal. I’d book again.
