About this house rental
Nestled in Long Beach, this charming house for $494 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Beach Retreat is a fabulous 5-bedroom, 4 full bath home with an amazing ocean view from the upper living room, bedroom and deck addition. Dog friendly (2 maximum). Watch the waves roll in from the ocean from your bedroom and private deck. It is ideal for a magical occasion in the KING SUITE for two, or for family vacations and gatherings, connecting with friends, 4th of July, Kite Festival, Rod Run, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's. The house boasts 2 kings, 3 queen beds. Most bedrooms have their own flat screen TV's but we bet you won't need them. The property is located in a picture-perfect setting on two acres, nestled in the pine trees, close to nature, casual and relaxed, and with its own walking path to the beach. At the end of the trail, you will find an elevated bench to sit and watch the waves roll in. The downstairs master bedroom has a king bed, master bath and its own sliding glass door out to the large lower deck. There are two more full baths to service the remaining three downstairs bedrooms. All the bedrooms have been remodeled for a luxurious feel. The living room/dining room offers hardwood floors and an open floor plan with a wood burning fireplace [GUESTS PROVIDE THEIR OWN FIREWOOD]. On the other side of the dining room is the kitchen -- a well-stocked galley style, with an adjacent laundry room. Beach Retreat has plenty of parking with room for 2 cars near the house and up to 3 more in the lower parking area. It truly has all the amenities you would expect in your next ocean vacation adventure. There’s even more to explore on the Long Beach Peninsula – all 26 plus miles of it. Great shopping and a variety of restaurants are all close by, plus lots of things for the kids to do. Long Beach is about 5 miles to the south. The Bolstad beach approach is a hub of activity year-round, but especially during the summer months, with the International Kite Festival in August and of course fireworks on Independence Day and New Year’s Eve. Just a couple more miles south of Long Beach are Ilwaco and Cape Disappointment as well as Waikiki Beach and the North Head lighthouse. There are some great art galleries at the Port of Ilwaco, and during the summer months there’s Saturday Market too, with a variety of local arts and crafts, foods, flowers and plants that you can buy. Ilwaco also has its own fireworks in July. The Port also features some fine restaurants with local seafood offerings created by our great chefs. Or take a charter trip for salmon, halibut, tuna or sturgeon. If you drive north from the house about 4 ½ miles to Ocean Park there are bookstores, restaurants and gift stores and more beaches to explore. Visit Jack’s Country Store to see this historic yet current meeting place. In Nahcotta you can buy fresh oysters and enjoy the wonderful views of Willapa Bay. On the extreme north end of the Peninsula, the place to see is Ledbetter Point State Park -- it’s a wonderful place for hiking to the beach or to the bay. Please refer to Terms of Agreement.

We had mixed group of people. Family, friends and friends parents and everyone had there on space. Short walk to the beach. Loved having a second refrigerator. Would highly recommend and hope to make it back again next year.

This house was so amazing for a larger family get together. There was so much space for everybody. The layout is so unique, and really helped bedroom areas stay quiet. There are TWO fridges which really blew our minds. Both decks were great, lovely view from the upper deck and upper king room. Kitchen had everything you could need and even tupperware fir leftoer and food prep. The path to the beach is great though a little long, but our 96 yr old granda still made it out and back once a day. It was great that most bedrooms were on the lower level, more accessible than many places we have stayed. A bit far from town but groceries either direction in under 10 minutes, we like a quiet area and beach. We saw deer daily and quiet a few bald eagles frequent the area. One day we saw 4 juveniles playing in the wind together, so beautiful. A simply wonderful trip.

This property is perfect for a large family. The bedrooms are good size, the shared space works for family gatherings. The walk to the beach was a little farther than other houses I have rented in LB, but it’s completely walkable. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors were very nice.

Other than the internet issue everything at the house went well. The hike to the beach is long but beautiful. The washer and dryer are a bit slow. The house is very spacious to accommodate large groups and is located close to the beach and boardwalk

Very spacious inviting home. House was clean and ready for us. We enjoyed the private trail down to the beach. My family really enjoyed our stay. Our teenagers especially loved the upstairs suite to themselves.

This was the perfect location to celebrate our parents, who love Long Beach, 50th Anniversary. There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room. The location was peaceful with a lovely short stroll to the beach.

The only recommendation I have is to turn the back space by the kitchen back into a bedroom (please! :0))

This was our 2nd year visiting this house, and we continue to believe it is the best for us! Two grandparents, four grown ups and two little ones. Enough space for everyone to spread out, but also be together :)
We just wish the neighbor didn’t have curse words on their flag that our young readers saw everyday,,, *I realize that this is out of the homeowners’/ manager’s control.

This house had everything we needed to make our family beach gathering a great success. We loved all the space and all the rooms. Everyone was happy with their room and bathroom. Beds were very comfortable.
The kitchen had it all! Even two refrigerators which was a great help for our gourmet chef and the 3 different families that brought food.
The beach access path was great! We spent lots of times to the beach with the kids.
The town was a little further away than I'd like but not too bad. We had a wonderful bike ride on the Discovery Head Trail that started about 4.2 miles from the house and went all the way down to the Lighthouse. Beautiful paved and fun trail ride! I totally recommend checking it out.
Now, there are a few things that I want to mention.
First, riding back from the bike ride and heading into the driveway there is a house with a very scary dog. I guess it's not always loose but at that time it was and when my husband road his bike back to the house the dog ran at him and bit him in the ankle. My husband talked to the owner and they apologized and didn't know the dog was loose. As I road my bike into the driveway also the dog ran after me and scared me half to death along with the rest of the bike riders. This was NOT ok! This was the only time we saw the dog.
Second, the dining room table was a great gathering place and plenty big for us to eat together and play games! However, the table is in great need of being refinished because of the stickiness. Our playing cards would stick to the table and it just felt kind of gross. Even cleaning it real well didn't help.
Third, the downstairs master bath bathtub drain needs cleaning out. Water doesn't drain well when taking a shower in it.
Fourth, I had a difficult time trying to run the washing machine. Pods were provided for the machine but being a front loader (great washer and dryer by the way) it should have liquid soap instead of pods. And instructions for using the washer would have been helpful.
BUT, all in all, I loved the house and would definitely rent it again for a large group gathering! Thank you for sharing your beautiful Beach Retreat with us!

We were happy to find it has a firepit! There was lots of parking for all of our vehicles. The kitchen has almost everything we needed, including TWO refrigerators but needs a strainer (pasta) and scissors. Since it sleeps 10, we were a little surprised at the 8-piece dish set, but we had brought paper along just in case! Garbage wasn't picked up during our stay. We ran out of room in the trash storage closet with 10 of us staying there! Guests are asked to remove shoes at the doors and a shoe caddy near the doors for all the shoes would be helpful. It was nice to find plenty of towels, including beach towels! Previous guests had thrown beer cans, etc. under the deck and left dog droppings. Please be respectful of the guests who are coming in after your family leaves! The internet is slow, so if you plan to do some work while here, keep that in mind! In our case, it helped keep us all on beach time! The laundry pods are in an unmarked glass jar on the counter across from the washer ICYMI!! Evening strolls to the beach on the private path and watching the sunset from the little bench are fond memories, as well as playing games inside on one stormy evening. The table could use a fresh top coat/sealer. It is gummy, even after repeated wipe downs. The house was great. Large enough for everyone to have their own space. We really enjoyed our stay at Beach Retreat and would stay again!

Lots of Room
We loved having all the bedrooms and bathrooms. It was great house! Huge! We did find it odd that ALL of the keys and maps were in one lock box at the property management office. We arrived on a Sunday and used the lock box to get our keys and house address/directions. Someone actually took our envelope for our rental. We called the emergency number for the property management place and an employee came right over to help us. However, it took about an hour to sort out who had our keys. We were stressed. The house is nice, but the outlets upstairs in the bathroom and living area do not work, which was inconvenient. Overall, the house was great. Loved the 2 refrigerators!

Our family was in town for a beach wedding. There were plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms for all of us to sleep and get ready. Many of us enjoyed the walk to the beach at different times during our stay. The property managers were very helpful in facilitating our stay!

Great Getaway
Our family, ranging from ages 26-86, all enjoyed the house, yard, deck, and all the space. The walk to the beach was easy--just follow the arrow that says, "Mermaids."
There are five bedroom, plus a couple bonus areas, where someone could set up an airbed or sleep on a couch, if you need more privacy. All the bedrooms are great: there is one small queen, two good-sized queens, and then two master suites with king beds. The downstairs suite seems unbeatable, until you go up the stairs and see the amazing top-floor suite, with walk-in shower and private deck. Fantastic! Be prepared to flip a coin to decide who gets it. ;-)

Better than the pictures
We had SUCH a wonderful time at the Beach Retreat!!! Our 'last hurrah' of the summer before heading back to school involved two youngsters (4 & 6 yrs), four young (at heart at least) adults and a set of grandparents, and EVERYONE had a lovely time!
Lots of room to spread out, but also to be together at the table and living rooms. beds we great - the little ones even slept in! #blessed. and having four bathrooms was a god-send!
outside, the firepit was great, and the walk to the beach was easy (around 5-7 minutes). You cannot beat the Long Beach experience - kites, waves, sand, breeze.... ahhhh!

Family Getaway!
I almost didn’t want to write a review because we loved this property so much and don’t want anyone else to book it! I’m kidding... But seriously this house is absolutely fantastic for a large family getaway. We had 6 adults, 1 teen, 2 kids and a small dog with PLENTY of room to spread out! Literally everyone had their own bed and practically their own bathroom!!! The common areas were spacious and welcoming and just plain comfy. You actually felt like you could “live” in the space without feeling as if you were breaking rules if that makes sense. Other VRBO rentals seemed so stuffy in their advertisements! Anyway, we appreciated this stay so much and have already looked at the calendar for another booking. Thank you for letting us stay!!!
